It’s only a mistake if you regret it - series - @whumpbby - M - Batfamily, Jason & Damian, Jaydick - 61,121w
No, if one wanted to ‘make nice’ with a grieving father, there was no better way than to present him with an impossible possibility of turning back time and giving back what has been taken from him. Luckily, Ra’s had the perfect tool for the job. Except it didn’t go exactly as planned.
Jason Todd comes back to life. He comes back incomplete - but the situation is hardly unsalvagable. At the very least he can be made useful for his pack.
(Summary is from the first fic in the series)
This is another one of my top Omega!Jason stories, and probably my favourite that has the whole Ummi!Jason thing going on in it. The premise contains triggering themes like non-consensual secondary sex change and mental manipulations of a minor. Further, there is consensual Ra’sJay and JayTalia after this point, which is arguably a product of those manipulations. The first fic centralizes largely on how Jason comes to be an omega, how his connection to Damian is built, and just generally how Jason grows up into this new role, and it’s done wonderfully, imo.
If you choose to only read one work, however, it absolutely has to be the second part. It’s a beautiful exploration of Damian being forced to live far from home, surrounded by strangers with strange customs in a broken pack, all with the shadow of his beloved Ummi, his fiercest protector and caregiver, hanging over him. If you like the batfam struggling to be, well, a family, this is for you, because it deals a lot with trying to build a new family, even when something is missing, even when one of the members secretly knows where to find that something missing but won’t say anything. It touches on loss, and love, and loyalty, and also on how the culture we live in impacts the way we understand and perceive things.
Disclaimer: Choosing only 30 works to rec is a nightmare and a half, so this will only be for works pertaining to Jason Todd, and I am not going to be repeating authors - with one exception, but one of the two recs is a co-write, so it kind of still counts on a technicality.

For Day 3 of @rasbatweek! Also fitting @jason-rarepairs
Batfamily Headcanon and fic idea.
Jason and Dick fight over who has the bigger amount of sugar daddies and the rest of the family is torn between amusement and horror.
Amusement because, Jesus, they're fighting over that and horror because they don't need to know who they're older sibling is banging.
Bruce is torn between wanting to hurt the idiots who think they can touch his sons to his idiot sons who decide to sleep them.
Bet then he realises he can't say anything because he's one of them.

Bruce: Ra's has a harem! He obviously doesn't care enough about you to stay loyal.
FemJay: I believe you mean that *we* have a harem. -smirk-

A Jason who can see ghosts meeting Sora Ra's wife. It's easy to tell shes a ghost, her clothing and manner of speech give her away. She learned English by watching her husband learn it. She's so upset by what Ra's has become, this was not what they wanted. They were healers who wanted to defeat death together. At first Jason just wanted to know wtf she was doing there. She starts following him trying to get him to help her with Ra's. She grieves for the man he was but knows he's still there.
I think we had a headcannon here about Sora’s spirit possessing Jay when he was in the Pit - and one where Jay was her reincarnation:) And that made Ra’s reconsider his path - his Beloved returned to him in the body of a young man who defied death. His Beloved, who wept seeing the man Ra’s had became, how he’d lost his path and how his heart hardened.
But also, his Beloved who was raped and murdered, and knew the cruelty of men and wasn’t about to let the evil walk the Earth. She admitted humanity needed fixing, and was willing to help Ra’s fix them - with the help of the boy she came back with, who had his own punishment to mete out on the evil men.
Alpha Ra's coming to reclaim omega Jason from a pack that doesn't appreciate him.
You know me so well, Em. Here you go!

The lock stuck like usual when Jason shoved his key in and unlocked his apartment door. A hard knock of the shoulder forced the door to open. An exhausted sigh escaped the worn-out omega as he entered his rundown Park Row apartment. It was a far cry from the splendor of Wayne Manor, but it was home or at least as close as Jason could manage. The walls were cracked; the paint was peeling; something always needed repair, but it was all legit with money he earned honestly.
Pushing the door shut, Jason threw the duffel bag full of his gear onto the second-hand couch before ensuring he locked up behind him. He kicked off his heavy boots feeling how his body steadily drooped now locked away in his den.
The past week had been rough. Drug dealers had been dropping like flies with a new player trying to muscle into Gotham. The case had been more troublesome than expected with the new player proving to be a cut above the usual rabble and then there was the complication that was his relation to the pack. Jason had never been good with politics and considering he never knew where exactly he stood with the family, pack politics were beyond him.
Some omega he was being unable to keep peace within his supposed pack.
