Radnormals are doubling down on animal alters not being able to consent...
I am actually confused on why they would assume an animal alter would have the same mental capacity as the actual animal.
It's not just that this is wrong... it's that it doesn't make sense if you take even a minute to think about it.
The animal alter is operating on a human brain in a human body. It doesn't have the animal's actual instincts. It didn't get its consciousness magically transferred from an animal to a human.
It's a human brain's interpretation of an animal. And more than that, for the oldest animal alters, they were a CHILD'S interpretation of an animal, and children grow up on cartoons and stories where animals are just smart and talk and act like people.
None of this is even getting into all the ways animal alters can form in CDD systems. Some form from the child being dehumanized while being abused. Some form as protectors, fearsome creatures the child needs to defend them. Some are kind creatures that can offer comfort, maybe based on the child's stuffed animals.
And even if they do start with limited intelligence, they have decades to learn within their human brain.
Most animal alters can, while fronting, speak human language, work, drive vehicles, pay taxes, etc.
It is extremely ableist to argue that animal alters can't consent just because they identify as nonhumans.
ESPECIALLY when many animal alters in CDD systems are created by trauma!
I don't normally post in CDD tags, but I'm going to make an exception with this post since this seems to be the majority opinion within radnormals, and I want CDD systems aware that this group doesn't support the rights of nonhuman alters to consent.
Radnormals are a threat to the rights of all systems!
