Dawn of the Jedi: Force War #1 (2013)
written by John Ostrander & Jan Duursema art by Jan Duursema, & Dan Parsons, & Wes Dzioba
This week’s theme: references to the classic video games, KotOR I and II!
This panel shows the villains from KotOR I as a prophetic vision of the dying Jedi lover, Duron Qel-Droma. Duron, as well as his companions Shaela Nuur and Guun Han Saresh, are characters who you only learn about in the game through the descriptions and placement of a few equippable items. Like Dark Souls, I guess, but less, uh, subtle. This comic shows these minor characters’ story in more detail, as well as more obvious fanservice like setting the story on important planets and showing these goofy collages of important characters.
“Tales 23: Shadows and Light.” (Found in Tales Volume 6). Dark Horse. May 11, 2005. Writer: Joshua Ortega. Penciller: Dustin Weaver. Letterer: Michael Heisler. Colorist: Michael Atiyeh.
