“Are you sure this is something we should be doing,” Byunghun asks as he approaches the female, a curious look on his features. Dark fingers curl against his nape as he looks around the area. “I mean, do you have permission to be doing something like this? I get that I’m useful but… Are you sure this is what you want to do?”

“What the fuck are you doing,” Byunghun says in a confused manner, his head tilting to the side. The boy across from where he’s sitting is doing a weird dance– has been for the past twenty minutes. The annoyed fascination the young prince has towards it is seriously at its breaking point. He vaguely remembers seeing Jaehwan do something similar while he was at Keumjo’s. A ‘dab’ or rather but… whatever the idol is doing now seems different.

A quiet whistle sounds as Byunghun kicks off the ground, pushing his skateboard a little fast to catch up with the idol. “Hey, hey. Where do you think you’re going? Are you sure you’re allowed to go out without your babysitter,” Byunghun mocks, grinning despite the idol’s impairment; but the way he speaks probably gives away his amusement as clear as day. “But really, where are you sneaking off to?”

The two of them are sitting around in her apartment – again – when Byunghun pops out the question. It’s nonchalant, not meant to be taken seriously. But Byunghun is genuinely nervous for the answer. Because it’s not every day, despite popular belief, that Byunghun tells people some of his secrets. “How would you feel if you were faced with death?”

“Soyi,” Byunghun calls out, a frown on his features as he quickly closes the distance between them. He knows the two of them rarely are on good terms but he’s starting to feel restless with where he is in life. He is going around asking a lot of people he knows – friends, strangers, enemies – the same question. “Can you help me get a job? Or do you know a place that’s hiring?”

“What are you doing,” Byunghun says from where’s he’s perching on the ledge, an eyebrow arching upwards in interest upon seeing the other male below him. He blinks once, then twice, turning himself around to face the other male with a thoughtful look. “You shouldn’t be here.”

Byunghun materializes himself from the shadows near the corner of the store. A place where he knows no one is looking – or caring to look, out of sight for the cameras as well. He knows she knows he’s here and easily makes his way over to where he knows she’ll be. “I can’t believe I’m saying this but you were right. It does help,” he says with a slight whine decorating his words, but it does nothing to diminish the wide grin stretching his lips.

“He reminds me a lot of the young ones back home,” Byunghun whispers as he gently plays with Yeonjun’s hair where the young child’s head is resting against his thigh. His own head is resting against the elder’s while he examines the child’s sleeping face. “Even though we’re born with understanding and knowledge, we still have to learn what that knowledge means. He’s so full of life, so full of wonder, it’s almost surprising.”
