📚 What are some underrated books that you’ve read this year?? Happy Thursday, Bookworms … Have you read any books this year that you feel are underrated? I’ve read a few, and the first one that came to mind was *Iron Widow* by Xiran Jay Zhao! (Also, throwback photo because it was pouring rain yesterday and too dark to take photos.) I read this book back in January, and it’s so good. I don’t see it around much, but everyone should read it. Chapter 3

Since Murderbot don't have the full trust of the Security System and such it isn't allowed to hack into other bots/system while on Preserve, much to its annoyance. However this forces it to use the regular old method of asking if anyone has information that can help. At first it gets help from a hotel bot where they find the room the victim most likely used before the murder. Then the hotel bot (Tellus) advices Murderbot to check on what ship the victim might have arrived in. It wasn't something Murderbot originally cared about but figured that it could check it out anyway just to be safe. This turned out to be a good thing since one of the ships, probably the ship with the right information, is undergoing some kind of crisis. However unlike in past books Murderbot can't just force its way in (unless it wants to put both its own and Mensah's positions into question) so it has to ask humans to come and help it. Sadly, none of the humans it likes are awailable so it'll call two it doesn't like. My guess is that it's Gurathin and Indah.

Another thing I just want to mention is something that's a pretty core part of Murderbot's identity and that's its "arrogance". Murderbot pretty much looks down on other people, both human and bots. It views itself as better which made somewhat sense when it was the only free unit surrounded by enslaved bots but now that it has to interact (not hack, interact) with another free bot it's a bit awkward. It also got a bit more help (to check out the ships) than it might have if it had resorted to hacking. Murderbot is pretty set in its ways, but I feel (hope) it will slowly learn to actually respect other intelligences, yes even the low intelligence bots.
