The fun thing about the Batman franchise is that whatever batshit (pun intended) fanfic premise you can come up with there is always a non zero chance that it already happened in cannon.
Batman is in-universe fictional and our main character is a mentally disabled man who thinks he's the real Batman and he's trying to save his childhood best friend from her shitty boyfriend who he sees as the joker? realworlds: Batman.
The joker de-ages batman and now has to raise him by himself? Joker: one operation joker.
Batman and joker are both high schoolers and competing for the affection of catwoman? Gotham high.
These were all made long after the campy 66 version and 2 out of 3 were meant to be taken at least somewhat seriously.
