1820s Spencer jacket
Have my eye on this gorgeous antique trim I want for an early Regency lady's spencer. The trim itself isn't period accurate, but it would be beautiful on one of those. Especially with a bit of matching tassle.
Just ordered that avocado green cotton print, and the dark green cotton velveteen for that Regency day dress and spencer jacket. Need to check my stash to see if I have enough linen for a shift, also start om the bodiced petticoat since the cotton for that's been washed.
Swatches are in, the green cotton velveteen spencer is a go. Beautiful shade and texture. Still debating the cotton print day dress. Will have to see how it looks with that trim.
Here's to hoping 1.70 yards in four different pieces with the longest being 40" will be enough to trim a spencer jacket. Because I really think that antique trim will be beautiful with a deep green velveteen.
Deep green wool or cotton velveteen spencer trimmed with this?
