Overprotective Wolf

So, I keep on seeing all these fanfictions and fanarts where Kosmo keeps interfering and putting Keith in inimate situations with his crush in hopes that they will get together...

But,

What if Kosmo interferes with Keith’s love life, albeit in a slightly different way.

I want to see Kosmo being extremely protective and possessive of Keith.

After all, for the first two years of his life, he only knew Keith and Krolia, with no interaction with anyone else.

He’s going to be naturally territorial over the two of them and suspicious of everyone else.

So when some random person who Kosmo has never met before comes by and starts getting a little too friendly and close to Keith, that wolf would absolutely make it his main priority to protect his beloved half-Galra companion.

Person wants to snuggle in bed with Keith?

Kosmo jumps onto the bed, successfully shoving the person onto the floor and snuggling Keith in their stead.

Person wants to cuddle on the couch?

Kosmo suddenly rolls onto Keith’s lap, demanding all of his attention while accidentally delivering a powerful kick to the person’s face.

Person wants a nice and/or exciting date?

Kosmo shows up and teleports Keith away to the training room so that they can spar against the simulations together.

Person gets too close while Keith is on duty?

Kosmo teleports the person to the other side of the ship, right beside an airlock.

Meanwhile the person is slowly growing more and more terrified of this gigantic nine foot wolf that has teeth sharper than Keith’s blade, a jaw strong enough to crush someone’s head in, the magical ability to teleport anyone to any place at any time he so chooses, and a personal motivation to get them as far away from their human-Galra hybrid by any means necessary.

The person was scared of getting Krolia’s approval as she had spent so long without being able to be there for him that she was bound to be protective.

The person was frightened of Kolivan and the other blades that were vigilant about any potential threats to their smallest member.

The person was panicky about meeting Keith’s three blade teammates - Acxa, Exor, and Zethrid - who kept careful watch over the hybrid after he saved each of them and helped bring them together again after Lotor had torn them apart. Especially since the three ex-generals were very dangerous and had far fewer morals than the rest of the Atlas crew.

The person was even a bit worried about the paladins. They would definitely interrogate anyone about their intentions toward Keith.

But the person didn’t realize that their biggest challenge would actually be the colossal vicious space wolf who seemed to despise anyone that desired Keith and would growl threateningly at them with his very pointy teeth bared every time Keith looked away or left the room.

It takes several, several months, but Kosmo eventually starts to slowly tolerate that this other one might be around for a little while and seems to make his companion happy, so the wolf begrudgingly decides that the person can stick around for just a little while longer.

Or at least until he gets the slightest hint from Keith that the person has hurt him, and then all bets are off.

Keith held out his hand. “Um… I’m Keith,” he said, allowing his mask to disappear, because it seemed like the polite thing to do. However, Regris still did not do the same. Perhaps he was just shy. Keith certainly wasn’t going to fault him for it.
