This isn't my usual kind of post, but:
If you're a student reading this and you're attending classes (required, elective, or recreational) via Zoom etc., does your school or class have a policy on whether you need to be
Sitting up at a table
Specifically not on a bed
Wearing non-pajama clothes
Keeping your camera on at all times
Contributing verbally rather than in the chat
Any other rule beyond what would be expected in an in-person class
I'd like to gather some anecdotal evidence before I talk to my principal after break. I'd like to hear how you feel about these policies, how you think they affect your learning, and what you are happy with or wish were different. Parents of students, I'm also open to your thoughts but I'm particularly interested in current students' own feelings about it, especially students with learning disabilities, anxiety, or any other type of disability or neurodiversity.
i don’t trust this one bit
To all the virtual school teachers out there
Please for the love of god, let me turn my camera off. I know it means I may not be paying attention, trust me, I’m not paying attention anyway.
I don’t want to have to worry about the face I make when I think. I don’t want to have to worry about bad lighting. I don’t want to have to worry about how close I am to the camera. I don’t want to have to worry about how I look, if I have acne, if I make a weird face when I yawn, if my cat turns around and shows her butt to the camera (cause cats).
Please let me turn my camera off. I will be able to work so much better if I don’t have to worry. People won’t pay attention no matter what you do, so let people not pay attention comfortably.
it's the way i did all my classes under a dolphin blanket today 💖🐬

Cue my internal criss about my kids' images and voices being recorded and saved somewhere on the internet for pervs to have access to, what is privacy in the digital age, oh crap where did the three year old go
Take headphones out the three year old's mouth and lead her out of the bathroom where she is experimenting with how to clog a sink
Take rocks out of four year old's hands which she took from the 7 year old's rock collection and is now trying to weaponize
Waiting on the Zoom Host to let you in
9 year old’s barebones laptop no longer works, give him my phone

Text from preschool; We missed you! Here are 51 links to watch of videos your kids might like!
Most of them include DIY activities for which I have 3/4 of the needed items.

transitioning to remote schooling:
Because of distance learning, our school has us writing progress reports instead of report cards for the final term, and they’re are so confusing.
It’s like 3 report card comments per kid, split up in odd ways. Does “your kid have an awful handwriting” go in the “areas for growth” section or in the “ways to help her improve” section?
