I love the ridiculousness of students who, while taking an assessment and knowing I can see their screens and am using this app to monitor them taking their test (not them, just what they are doing online), decide to do the following :

Shop on Amazon for Beats

Google the answers to the test

Do work for other classes

Get in a meeting with other students to share test answers

Listen to Ariana Grande’s greatest hits instead of the text audio (read aloud accommodation)

Cool Math Games

Anything other than having their test or their reading selections open

I enjoy starting the school Zoom two minutes early and then getting up to get a drink, so that when it starts it's just the principal making eye contact with my cat.

To all the virtual school teachers out there

Please for the love of god, let me turn my camera off. I know it means I may not be paying attention, trust me, I’m not paying attention anyway.

I don’t want to have to worry about the face I make when I think. I don’t want to have to worry about bad lighting. I don’t want to have to worry about how close I am to the camera. I don’t want to have to worry about how I look, if I have acne, if I make a weird face when I yawn, if my cat turns around and shows her butt to the camera (cause cats).

Please let me turn my camera off. I will be able to work so much better if I don’t have to worry. People won’t pay attention no matter what you do, so let people not pay attention comfortably.

District website says we are virtual until December 9th. 

I have not yet heard anything for admin about it. 

The state is closing high schools on Wednesday. Not sure if that is what is happening with us or not.
