CLOUD x RENO

You've got the eyes at least...

Through the concentrated efforts of Clouds friends getting him to unwind Cloud gets very, very drunk at a party and somehow ends up sleeping with Reno.

Later discovering he's pregnant (damn you Hojo!) He tells no one who the father of his baby is hoping it inherits Cloud's looks. Everyone is curious at Clouds evasiveness regarding baby daddy.

Unfortunately Cloud has no such luck, the baby looks like Reno Mark 2.

Okay but it’s funnier if Cloud wan’t even drunk (I mean can SOLDIERs (or effectively SOLDIERs in Cloud’s case) even get drunk?) and instead that’s just his immediate excuse when it’s clear who the father of the child is.

So Cloud’s friends told him to unwind for a night and not be so uptight. And Reno knows this so keeps goading Cloud to keep going by reminidng him he’s supposed to unwind. And CLoud keeps also pushing it further because he wants to see at what point Reno will blanche and back down.

It’s effectively them playing gay chicken. But the next morning Cloud has the thought that maybe he should have realised Reno wouldn’t be the one chosing a line. And Reno is remembering that Cloud joined a terrorist group to earn some money and then became ride-or-die with them and, yeah, maybe he isn’t great at drawing a line of ‘alright this has gone too far I should stop’ (also like... nobody is going to believe Reno that it happened).

And then Cloud winds up pregnant. Making their stupid idea even more so. He absolutely denies knowing who the father is - especially when Reno asks (which comes back to bite him once the baby is born clearly Reno’s because now Reno is kind of pissy about Cloud denying it so much to him.
