Having not seen episode 3, I will now predict the weapon upgrades for the main cast.

Ruby: crescent rose now fires smaller scythes and smells like flowers.

Yang: The same weapon, but now just on fire. Constantly. Like, forever.

Weiss: Myrtenaster can now be used like an actual gun. That's right, she can shoot the fucking blade at people like a rocket launcher!

Blake: TWO GUNKATANASARIGAMAS!

Jaune: You've seen sword, shield, sword-sword, shield-shield and swordshield, but now consider... nora just picks him up and swings him at people. His new hair can do the cutting.

Nora: BIGGER. EVERYTHING. And more hearts.

Ren: Stormflower bullets secrete pheremone that speeds up the effects of rensexuality.

Oscar: I dunno, sharpen the cane?

Qrow: Built in flask.

Admit it, she looks a lot like Kairi in Kingdom Hearts II. And her skirt literally has hearts on it. It’s so close.

Honestly though, I think this is a great outfit. The exposed shoulders and thighs are a little head scratching since this is a colder climate, but Nora has never been one for making sense. The blue in her color scheme is more pronounced this time and I too have heard the pitch that this matched the transgender flag so Nora might be a trans girl. It’s a nice headcanon, but I get the feeling it’s not what they were going for. Still, feel free to go with it. The world is a happier place with people who believe in things. The fingerless gloves, sleeves and armor bands are also pretty cool, and in all it seems like a great new look.

Meanwhile...

Don’t tell me he’s not turning you the more you look at him.

This majestic man. A fusion of his 1-3 and 4-6 outfits with the white pants making a return, plus a single black sleeve/pauldron with magenta accents for a nice asymmetrical look vs the all white left sleeve and the green vest to bring it all together. I know that’s a big run on sentence, but it’s a lot to take in. Plus now he has the ponytail again and it looks great. And who could ignore the knife? Clearly his father’s, last seen in V4, now displayed proudly on his upper arm. It’s a beautiful aesthetic and Lie Ren does it marvelously. 10/10

And then... their fearless leader.

I’ve had that hairstyle before so I know it’s not the worst thing ever and I really don’t mind it much. I just don’t see why he would get his hair cut shorter and expose his ears (a new sight for us) when they’re in the icy north and you’d wanna keep your ears and head warm. Aside from that it’s growing on me.

The rest of the outfit seems fine to me. A second shoulder pad finally. New jeans and a new belt with a strap extending down to a loop around the left thigh for some reason... and some additions to his chest plate. Also... the end of the pumpkin Pete’s hoodie in favor of some black wrap clothing thing with orange on the inside that give him a little collar boost. It’s a good looking outfit. They all are. I’m excited to see they in action.
