You! I just finished reading everything you have out of the rentho/*insert a bunch of messy relationships* /pos and I'm so obsessed!! Ive been yapping about it with my friends a lot heh, I love all the characterization and the little ways that our hybrids aren't quite human and it shows. Tysm for writing this awesome work!

Hey, thanks for the kind words! This one has been so much fun to work on, I have such a soft spot for Rentho, and a castle setting for them just works lmao, coming from my second time around on one of these fics. Martyn has unfortunately been my bay leaf of a character for years at this point and only now has infected my brain like a parasite, but its also been so fun writing him more seriously. I feel very fortunate that people read what I like writing, hopefully you'll enjoy the rest of the story! (and as *almost* always, a snippet for your kind comments)

This is such a shot in the dark bc I actually don’t know if it’s you on twt who has graph of the top 10(2) hermitcraft ships but just know if you are 1. Your patience with people being excited about Jimmy/scott being on the hermitcraft ship list is admirable and 2. I know this isn’t the point of the post but the fact that rentho is even on the list is crazy to me and I needed to tell someone that understood my disbelief (I’m a lurker on twt so I didn’t know if it would be weird for me to comment)

You nailed it, that IS me! I am glad someone appreciates my patience, it’s insane to me that ships involving people who aren’t in Hermitcraft at all are as high as they are. Even as a fan of ranchers, I feel like they shouldn’t be the top three ship for a fandom only one of them is even in, you know? Nobody NEEDS to watch Hermitcraft or members of Hermitcraft who aren’t in the life series, but in moments like these it really shows how much of them don’t and it is a bit of a shame. This (someone not even in it makes the top three, a ship with NO members of the group makes the top ten) would never be the case in the Life Series tag and I think we all know it.

I was so joyful when I saw Rentho on the list!! It is one of my favorite Ren ships, and that is saying something considering I basically ship him with everybody (my greed is boundless). I will plug them every opportunity I get, and hopefully Rentho stocks will rise this year!! The people will join us!!

Opinion on Rentho 👀👀

My opinions on things are usually split into two different categories: wholesome, PERVERTED

Wholesome- honestly, just as a duo they're great. Ren is very outgoing and Etho isn't as much but Ren definitely has his introverted side and Etho has his extroverted side.

In general, they're both emotionally intelligent as much as they're also a little outside of the mould.

I could imagine them having a lot to show and teach each other and I think they'd go well together but they could clash on Ren's emotional outlook on things while Etho makes decisions more on logic.

PERVERTED- so, I think that Ren would be the confident/power bottom in the relationship or maybe even a switch.

He'd have more experience than Etho with men for sure but he also wouldn't have A LOT. He's probably had awkward or just disappointing sexual encounters or ones that were adequate but he treated like they were amazing because he didn't quite know how a partner is supposed to make him feel.

Enter Etho, not experienced with men at all. He's never defined his sexuality and never questioned it deeply. He just likes what he likes. Ren is teaching Etho how to #doit with a man and as Etho starts using his 💫intuition💫, Ren is like omg this feels so good and he's trying to talk Etho through the steps but he's SO flustered and loses his mind and starts stuttering and Etho is like "okay I've got it from here😅" and then they fuck silly and Ren can't stop wanting more and neither can Etho and basically they'd have GREAT sexual chemistry

Anyways I think any Etho pairing is great honestly but I also think that even now, Etho has a little soft spot for Ren because he's so silly and sweet and HOT.

Sliding Ren/Etho across the table…hey have you tried this? The absolute devotion and adoration Ren has for Etho at any given time? He will bring up Etho whenever he can if he fits in the conversation, wants to team up with him during the life series.

And Etho has suchhh a soft spot for Ren. Just in Wild Life, Etho tries to trade Ren a chest plate for boots and when he won’t, he gives him the chest plate anyways just so he’ll be more protected. He seems bewildered but amused any time Ren does a bit near him, and will “yes, continue” him most of the time. They’re so cute together and I need more people on this train

I have read some of your Rentho and it is very compelling <3 I am totally gonna go through and rewatch some of their stuff through this lens, it's just that neither of them are creators I watch regularly lol
