@seacoralyoga on Scorpion! 🦂 ・・・ Tomorrow our shape is straight leg scorpion for #ResolutionHandstand2019 Some people might call this a Mexican handstand but I feel like a Mexican variation has a hollowback shape rather than a scorpion shape, where your chest lifts up as if you were in cobra. DRILL: Wheel pose or forearm wheel is a great way to warm up your back muscles in preparation for a scorpion handstand. Wheel opens up shoulders, hip flexors and psoas. But let’s not forget, scorpion is not just a bendy pose but I strong one! STRAIGHT LEG SCORPION TIPS: Feet, legs and core engaged, toes pointed or flexed will make that happen. Allow your chest to drop and then lift head as if your in cobra pose and allow psoas to relax.
