Ein Spiel mit dem Teufel, das ich mit dir einging. Lektionen woraus ich lernte und der Schmerz der nicht vorbei geht.
trying to be more free
it’s a hard ass process but learning how to do it has been cool. being angry at little shit and not being aware of the things that set you off is too easy.
i finally got fed up! bought some crystals and a book on meditation. met a dope ass human in the process.
i think reconnecting with what makes me feel not only whole but grounded and safe is something i have been ignoring and putting off.
i had a whole week where i would just break down over nothing!! but in that process i learned to speak about it and get it out of me rather than continuing to hold it in (clearly it fights it’s way out anyway). all in all, i’m in a decent spot right now and i just wanted to say that. for myself and anyone who needs to hear it.

Writing Process
I am always so fascinated by other people’s creative processes! Specifically when it comes to writing!
And since I have had a little time to decompress from my writing marathon at the beginning of this month I can really settle in and start working on my own projects.
So I thought it would be fun to walk you through how something goes from a thought to a finished and published work.
Step 1. Random thought, dialogue, scene, point of tension pops into my head at any given point throughout the day. I have had ideas come to me in the middle of listening to songs, conversations from other writers, in the shower, reading another published fic, a portion of work that doesn’t quite fit into a current wip, etc.
Step 2. Frantically hits keyboard or phone screen as fast as possible to get everything down as quickly as possible because once it’s gone, that’s it. No more help from the brain.
Step 3. Create a word doc in Google Drive. Labeled (Pairing and Tentative Title) and begin typing anything and everything that comes to mind. Free typing. Generally in this step, I am not entirely sure if what I am typing will become a one-shot or a random chapter that I will have to build a story around.
Step 4. After I have emptied a satisfactory amount of information. Let me be very clear, I have this problem that if I have something on my brain to write it is the only thing I can think about. It is like a Karen on Black Friday. She will push, claw, and shove herself to the front of a bin of discounted cookware. She will not stop until her goal is achieved and the cookware is safely nestled in her shopping cart. Same goes for a writing idea. Nothing else matters. Not work. Not family. Not eating. It is set on a never-ending loop on my brain until it is put down in some way shape or form. What classifies as enough information is my ability to walk away for whatever amount of time and come back to it and know exactly what I was thinking.
Step 5. Walking away. Seriously. I let it sit and get comfortable. I let my brain wander and work on other things.
Step 6. I open the doc and assess the damages. If I consider it a one-shot then it gets placed into the incomplete folder but if I think I can make it a multi-chapter fic it gets its own folder. Step 7. I make a plot doc and estimate how many chapters I will need to create in order to complete the story. I place the started work somewhere in the lineup and go from there. I add general descriptions and scenes that should be included in each chapter. Step 8. Each chapter gets its own doc. Labeled (Chapter x and Potential Chapter Title). I copy + paste the chapter descriptions at the top of the page. Research for initial thoughts and reference materials (this also gets a separate doc with links and photos). Step 9. I add to chapters when I feel like. No rushing. Just organic working when the urge is there. Research when needed. Once I reach my estimated word count for the chapter I leave it and come back to it on and off. Giving myself fresh eyes to read what I have written and making corrections when applicable.
Step 10. Final edits and then posting!
Example of my writing process:
Current project: KasaHaru Fic
Ploted Chapters: 17 (It will be a 3 part series. Part 1 is chapters 1-14. Part 2 currently has 3 plotted chapters, Part 3 is untouched but I know the ending).
Current focus: Chapters 1-5
Words Count Per Chapter:
Chapter 1: 3,418
Chapter 2: 654
Chapter 3: 0 (outside of the basic outline)
Chapter 4: 859
Chapter 5: 3,070
Some of you see this and think it is utter chaos (looking at you @ohshcscenerios!) others totally understand the madness. And that’s what makes the creative process. The fact that we all do something different but what we come up with is magic! Some people finish a chapter and can’t wait to post. I, on the other hand, want to complete a whole project before posting. Because how depressing is it to stumble across a great story and it is incomplete with no hope of being finished?? But hey that is my own personal preference!
Respect your process! Respect their process!
