Voice of The Goddess Part 2

Part 1

After dying the Goddess Hylia asks for your help in the fight against Calamity Ganon. You find yourself beside Zelda, Link and the 4 Champions of Hyrule. Armed with knowledge of the previous games and a Magic long forgotten will you be able to prevent the tragedy in store for our heroes.

Chapter 2

After singing a hole in the clouds, the three Hylians were more inclined to believe your claims. The four of you left the Spring of Courage to make your way south to the Highland stable where their horses were currently being boarded.

Zelda had so many questions for you, Her curiosity seemingly unquenchable. She apparently liked researching and analyzing ancient technology and history. And the Sun’s Song seemed to fall under that category.

“How did you learn such a song? It was thought that much of the knowledge from before the First Calamity 10,000 years ago had been lost.”

“Oh, I know a bunch about the old stories. That song was one the Hero of Time learned, although it originally switched around night and day.”

“I would very much like to hear them. It will be some time before we reach the stable.”

So you do you best to recount the first part of Ocarina of Time, the Princess swallowing up any information voraciously. It was absolutely adorable how enthusiastic she was about learning.

Her eyes sparkled as she listened and tried to ask insightful questions about the child hero. You hoped your answers were equally insightful but you doubted it. Impa seemed equally enthralled with your tale. At least until you got to the part about the young Princess.

“So she could use her magic even though she was still so young?” The was something tense in Zelda’s voice. She looked down at her own hands which were fidgeting nervously. Link and Impa seemed just as on edge.

“Did I say Something wrong?” Oh god you hope you didn’t horribly offend the Princess.

“Well it’s just…” Impa started as she awkwardly scratched at the back of her head.

“My own magic has eluded me for quite some time.” The Princess finished tersely, pointedly not looking at any of you. It seems this is a subject of great distress for the Hylian Princess.

“I was praying in the spring, asking the Goddess to help awaken my sealing power when you appeared in the water.”

“Maybe that’s why she appeared.”

You and the two other women turn to Link after his quiet interjection. You’re still not used to hearing his voice and judging from the other’s reaction, neither were they.

“That actually makes a lot of sense…” Impa rubbed at her chin thoughtfully. “With your knowledge of the ancient stories and magic I’m sure you know the key to unlocking the power to seal away the Calamity.”

Zelda did not appear to be thrilled with this revelation. Her hands gripped at her dress, her shoulders tensed. She still wouldn’t look at anyone.

You couldn’t stand to see her so disheartened. You carefully hold both her hands with your own. “Don’t Princess, I swear I’ll do everything I can to help you unlock your sealing power.”

She looks into your eyes, her green ones misty with intense emotion. “Thank you.” She nods in acknowledgment.

You reach the stable sometime around sunset. The stable owner comments how fortunate this is, as monsters have grown more troublesome during the night.

“It’s one of the signs that Calamity Ganon will soon awaken.” Impa explains. The two of you are in a private tent, meant for the Princess and her entourage, while Zelda changes out of her ceremonial dress. Link had gone to tend to the horses, while the Sheikah woman was trying to find if she had extra clothes you could wear. “Monster attacks have gotten worse and now Stals are showing up.”

You sit with your hands in lap, patiently listening as she explains the current state of Hyrule. How Calamity Ganon (who is apparently not a person this time but more of a force of nature) was prophesied to return soon so the King of Hyrule has ordered excavation and study on ancient Sheikah technology. They’ve currently unearthed for giant machines across the regions of Hyrule called Divine Beasts as well smaller battle machines called guardians. The King had also ordered extensive training for Princess Zelda so she can awaken her sacred powers.

“But Her Highness has a more scientific mind, so the realms of spirits and magic have been difficult for her to access.” She added as she fished around in her pack. “If things weren’t so dire, I kind of wish she could just study tech instead of standing in springs praying.” She holds out some clothes to you, “Here, this should work until we can get you something of your own.”

“Thank you.” You go to a private place to change. Impa had given you a simple navy tunic that ended at your thighs and a tan jacket with wide sleeves that stopped at your elbows and fell just below the knees. There was red sash to tie close, and a pair of simple sandals for your feet. You decided to keep the shift on underneath to keep more coverage on your legs.

You decided to see how it looked in a nearby mirror and were shocked to see your appearance had changed. You now had pale blonde hair, lighter than even Zelda’s. It landed at mid back with a slight wave. Your eyes were a blue green like sea. You think you look a lot like Hylia did when you met her. Perhaps it was her way of marking you as chosen by her.

It was actually really unnerving. Your old life really was gone, wasn’t it? You didn’t even look like yourself anymore. You’re never going to see your family and friends again. How were they taking your death? You realized that you’ve signed your life away to fight in this very dangerous world you don’t actually understand.

Breathing was suddenly becoming way more difficult. You legs gave out from under you and you collapsed onto the floor. You try to find away to steady yourself but your eyes can’t seem to focus. Your hands grabbed at the floor looking for something steady.

“Excuse me, but are you-“ and that’s when Princess Zelda decided to check on you.

You look up at her and your last modicum of control crumbles. You can’t stop crying now, your body heaving with each sob. You try to babble out an apology but you can’t manage to form words.

The Princess kneels down next to you and places her arms around you. You cry into her shoulder, muddled words of you fears pouring out. Her presence is steady and patient as she consoles you.

It takes some time but you calm down enough to pull away.

“I’m so sorry, Princess.”

“It’s alright.” Zelda seems to be considering her words carefully, probably trying to not to agitate your delicate emotional state. “The current circumstances are quite difficult, and you likely need time to adjust.” She looks away from you. “You have not dealt with the shadow of Calamity Ganon hanging over you most of your life.”

And you couldn’t imagine how awful it was to grow up with the apocalypse looming ahead of you. You place one hand on her shoulder and the other over your heart. “This situation is scary for both of us.” She looks into your eyes, “So let’s promise that we won’t go through this alone.”

There’s a faint blush on her cheeks, you hope you haven’t made her uncomfortable. But she places a her hand on the one that’s on her shoulder and gives you a soft smile. “Yes,” she nods, “we’ll work together in this.”

Revali:

Ew, get away.

Don’t get him wrong, he loves you dearly

But as champion, he has to stay in top condition

He can’t afford to catch whatever it is you have.

(Also he’s super germaphobic)

However, if you’re in a really bad state, he’ll step up as personal caretaker

All in all, he’s acting pretty sweet

...Although the fact that he’s using a pair of tongs to hand you stuff kind of dampens the mood

Sidon:

He is the total opposite of Revali

It takes two guards to pry him away from your bedside

“Your Highness please, you have a meeting with-”

“That will have to wait. For now, I refuse to leave my beloveds side while their health’s at risk.”

“But sir-”

Sidon tone will suddenly hardens.

“This is an official order as Prince of Zoras domain. You will stand down and provide no further arguments on the matter, understood?”

Oh shit, Sidon never pulls the authority card

That’s how you know he’s being serious

The guard however, looks more exasperated than anything

“Sir, it’s a cold, not a blight.”

Lying on the bed, you blow your nose as you nod in agreement with the guard

The moment you started sneezing, Sidon immediately put you on bedrest

Honestly, you didn’t feel that bad aside from the cough and stuffed sinuses

A day or two of rest, and you’d be fine

You’ll have to reprimand him to get his (very hot) fish butt in gear

No one’s ever seen Sidon finish his duties so quickly 

He’ll return to your bedside as soon as he’s done for the day

He curls his large form around you and nuzzles into your shoulder

You could almost swear he’s purring

(Not only did you get a loving boyfriend, apparently that also meant adopting a pet puppy shark)

Out of the three, Link is hands down the best caretaker

Like Sidon he’ll dote on you, but he’ll react more sensibly to the situation like Revali

Which means, unlike Sidon, he won’t act like you’re at deaths door after catching the cucco pox

He’s  high-key a provider

Anything you need, he has at the ready

There’s also the added bonus with his cooking

Dude can make anything mouth-watering without having it churn your stomache

However, he’ll be strict if he needs to be

(Like, he WILL tape oven mitts over your hands if you don’t stop scratching)

Overall though, he means well 

Links not much of a talker, so he probably won’t read to you like Revali

Once you’re asleep however, he carefully climbs into the bed and lays down beside you

The entire time, he quietly hums a lullaby in your ear

He vaguely recalls his mother singing it to him as a child  

The memory brings a warm smile to his face as he softly continues his mothers song

A Letter from Revali to you

This is a Christmas present to @chained-ikshu (aka Jade). After they gave me and another friend of mine an art present, I felt like I had to give something back. But even though this is a gift to them, anyone can read it if you’re a Revali fan! 

A Letter from Revali comes in the mail. It is addressed to you. You’re surprised, considering that he would usually fly to meet up with you wherever you are and talk with you face to face. That, along with the fact that you have never seen him send any mail. But encased in an envelope with a special candle wax seal to close it (with the symbol of Vah Medoh as the seal) was, as of your knowledge, one of the few letters that Revali has ever sent. And it was to you.

You had received it after finishing tending to your garden in the Tabantha Frontier. While other neighbors around your home had always hunted, you always believed that bringing in a fresh harvest was more rewarding. After collecting all of the swift carrots and putting them in their respective pile, a messenger Rito had flown down from the clear skies above. He seemed agitated as he held the mail to you, but all of his stress was relieved when the paper was given to you. He did not say a word after the letter was shoved into your hands, and then he flew back to Rito Village, with its large rock formation looming in the distance.

It was a letter from Revali, the Rito Champion. Or more accurately, a letter from your love. The two of you have been together for so long that you could barely count the days to keep track. You smile as your mind drifts back to the image of him, sighing out of hopeless affection. It has been quite a while since you have last seen him; perhaps this is what this letter is for? To confirm for yourself, you pick away the seal on the front and open the parchment. Despite not ever seeing Revali’s handwriting before, you thought it was very impressive as he wrote in a unique font. It was similar to cursive, but it was slightly more readable, which made you smile because you hated cursive. And so, you began to read.

“My one and only champion,

It has been so very long since I have seen the magnificent smile of yours, and every day that we are apart I yearn for it more. I do apologize for not contacting you in person, but I have been up to my beak in work with the Princess and her appointed knight. They constantly insist that I must assist their victory over a magnificent beast that was sealed away 10,000 years ago. I have agreed and have been gathering my belongings, but I will not leave until I do a few final tasks.

One of them, my love, is to spend our anniversary together.

Perhaps you were worried that, due to how I have been tugged around these past few cycles of the moon, I may have forgotten. But in truth, you have been on my mind the most since the Princess had arrived. She is beautiful, yes, but none can outmatch you my darling. In a few days I must leave, but since our anniversary; the anniversary of the start of our relationship, is soon upcoming, I simply know that I must see your face once more.

I can still remember the day we have met. I was surveying the area for monsters and became famished, so I stopped to sample your delectable edibles as I have heard many talk of your many skills. We may have gotten off on the wrong foot, as in it took a while for us to obtain anything due to our mutual stubbornness, but I was still glad that I met you. Slowly but surely, you had brought me meals every day to prove me wrong for insulting your garden. But right alongside that, it had given us a chance to talk to one another. My heart still leaps with joy whenever I remember us meeting up once again. When you had confessed that you had feelings for me, I was truly shocked! But I had never been so glad to be caught by surprise.

So since tomorrow I am departing to Hyrule Castle to converse with the other champions, I would first like to spend one more night with you. I shall take you onto my back and show you the stars, and perhaps in return you could make us your signature Banana Nut Bread! We can meet tomorrow eve; I would assume that this would be the best option for the both of us.

But most of all, I would like to say thank you. So many people, Hylians and Rito alike have never truly seen me past my glorious skill. So when you had confessed that you have had feelings for me, I was close to leaping for joy! You were one of the few that I know that see past my arrogant exterior and see me for truly me! You refused to let others talk bad for me while I ignored what others had to say, as I believe that it is all simply noise. You were one of the few Hylians that broke through that noise and found the true me! Every day I am together with you now has always been a pleasure. So I would like to thank you once again for everything you have done for me. I truly do appreciate it.

So we shall meet tomorrow! I shall bring my stories and you shall provide the Banana Nut bread? My heart cannot contain my joy of seeing you any longer; I simply cannot wait any longer! But do remember when I travel with the several other champions, you shall always be on my mind. I promise that when I leave that I will come back for you. But most of all, I promise that tomorrow will be the perfect evening for the both of us.

Your body was betraying you.

It’d happen occasionally, but you wondered why your mind could feel so unnervingly clear but so distorted at the same time. You felt ill although there was nothing wrong. Body bursting into hot sweats and seconds later freezing cold, it would happen again and again, no matter how much breathing you were doing. No matter how long and deep you held it.

You were having an anxiety attack and you wanted to the world to stop.

Your day had started as any other day, but you woke up with static balled in your chest. Sometimes it simmered and other times the static was overwhelming. The day dragged on and nothing new or stressful came about, and so it was all the more bizarre the moment it hit. You were going to boil some water for tea and when you had reached the cupboard, your finger accidentally brushed against another cup, that was too close to the edge, and fell.  

You attempted to grab, but it slipped from your grasp and shattered across the wood flooring.

It was so strange. You felt okay one second, but the next moment your eyes stared down at the broken pieces and the noise just echoing ….

The strength in your legs vanished. You were kneeling on the floor attempting to breath, but the air around you was stuffy and thick. The cool winds outside only felt like they were slicing your flesh and any small sounds just amplified, even reverberating down your neck.

Oh shit, you thought. Oh shit.

You gazed up through your wavering vision, attempting to find something -anything- to alleviate this horrendous ordeal, but you felt sick. The spinning in your head increased when you tried to raise your head and all  you wanted to do was scream ‘stop’. You couldn’t comprehend what was happening, all you knew that nothing was right, everything is wrong, and you couldn’t stop it.

You couldn’t will it away and it drove you mad.

A sob burst forth from your lips from your hunched position, dragging your fingers across the floorboard as you wheezed for air. Your heart was pounding and tears pricked your eyes. Another sob escaped you as you wheezed again. Your hands scrambled across the floors, running over things that poked back. In your confusion all you wanted was air to ground you, air to help the burning in your lungs, but nothing was providing release. There was nothing there to cool your heated skin…

“[Name]?”

A voice called out, however, through your deliria it came muffled as if your very head was underwater. But it was a voice. It was something. It was someone.  Another sob breached through your lips, your hand desperately holding out for the voice.

Hylia, just make it stop, you mind screamed. Please.

“Help….Help.” Was all you could muster out. Words seemed loss, but only ‘help’ could reach out.

Thumping could be heard and the tightness in your chest increased as your world spun. Your hands desperately grabbed for the hard floor again only to grab onto softness. It was a welcome change to your over sensitive nerves and felt your head being encompassed. You felt air reach your lungs as you began to realize you were no longer crawling on the floor and your back expanded. You felt something grab ahold of your hands and press against more softness.

“Breathe…”

Breathe? Your mind tried to process. Was that even a word? What was ‘breathe’?

The static ball in your chest began to lessen as well as the shivers that overcame your body. The soft touches became more frequent and you could finally discern that they were running along your face. You felt weak and were shivering despite the warmth around you, but luckily, the world didn’t seem too distorted anymore.

When your eyes finally focused they were staring up at your hammocks and the ceiling. The world calmed and the laceration your hay-wired mind conjured up began to diminish. You felt nauseous and gazed at the softness holding onto you. The moment Revali’s face registered was like an euphoric high and the breath of fresh air you so desperately needed.

His feathered fingers stroked the side of your face, the motion soothing the static within your chest and mind. Timidly, you grabbed his hand before smothering your face into it. He was a bit startled, not at all what he was expecting. Nor did he expect you to fully throw yourself on him, rubbing your face against his own.

He sputtered out your name a tad flustered, but he did nothing to shove you away. You allowed your fingers to run along his sides, his arms, just anything you could touch. The softness was soothing along your fingers and face. Air was not foreign to you anymore…

“Goodness, [Name]....Are you alright?” Revali’s pompous voice slithered in your ears and, Hylia, did you relish in it.

“I am now… I am now.” You whispered breathlessly as you hugged him to your form.  

“What happened?”  He spoke quietly, his own arms coming around to encase you.

Your fingers fiddled together behind his head, taking the time to think how to answer or if you wanted to at all. “I broke a cup.” You simply stated, not wanting to feel the embarrassment, but it was futile.

“....I refused to believe shattering a cup while I found you crawling around in the shards set you through that tizzy.” He mumbled, not at all feeling pleased. He felt there was more to it then you wanted to let him know and that thought of you withholding something like that brought a sour taste to his tongue.

You pulled away and he was prepared for a counter argument, but the last thing he expected to see was you staring at him with the threat of tears. “C-can I talk about it later?” Your voice faded, making you all the more aware how vulnerable you felt. Biting your lip, you spoke again, hating how soft it sounded. “Please...Revali…”

Revali could only take in your disheveled appearance, noticing the knicks and cuts that cascaded across your knees and hands. He felt dishearten seeing the way your eyes were bloodshot and dark. He sighed as if he was reluctant and ready to revive the argument, but he did not.

Revali shot you a stern look and pointed to your wounds. “Fine. If you must swallow your demons then allow me to take care of those careless wounds. H-However this is not over. It is unhealthy to suffer in this manner, and I cannot tolerate another episode like this.” He could feel himself cringe at his own words and looked off to the side..

His words stung more than you wanted to admit and the sickening feeling was coming back.  You turned your eyes way in shame..

“I.. I just can not stand to see you hurting like this, [Name]...” Revali continued, his voice softening while he took your hand in his. You still couldn’t look at him, feeling like you’d burst into tears. “Before it was mild irritation and the occasional hyperventilating, but now...Now…” His feathered finger turned your chin to face him, but you refused to meet his eyes. “[Name], let me help…”

One by one the tears dripped off your face, and thick streams of snot began to flow down your nose causing you to sniff harshly. “I just want to hold you right now.” You sniffed again, blinking away the tears before looking at Revali. “I-Is that okay?”

He sighed while shaking his head, but a soft smile made its way to his beak. His large wing cupped the back of your head before it pressed your face against his chest. “It is always more than okay.”

Honestly, drunk Link’s not that different from his usual self

I mean, he’s already a menace sober

It’s hard to outdo the crazy stunts of the Arson King  

One noticeable difference would be that his antics are on a smaller scale

(The lack of focus and impulse control prevents him from doing anything too big)

He still pulls some weird shit, it’s just that his stunts will have smaller repercussions

Like he’ll accidentally burn down a house or two, instead of the entire region

Goes down from pure chaotic energy, to little gremlin mischievous imp

There IS still some chaos though 

No Link, you don’t think Revali needs a haircut. His feathers are supposed to be long. Hold on, why do you have scissors? Sweetie no, he’s asleep- Wait, Link STOP-

That night, Rebaldi was born

Unfortunately, Rebaldi is not pleased once he discovers the new look

*Cue a montage of Link frantically dodging bomb arrows*

“SILENCE PEASANT!”

Drunk Revali is like a spoiled fluffy boy-child

Unfortunately, it’s not in the cute way

Nope, he’ll be like that kid who’ll refuse to stop kicking his feet as you try to help him remove his pants (Because it was “too hooooott!”)

Once you finally manage too settle down in bed with him, he starts complaining that now it was too cold

So you pull an extra blanket over him

“...Now ‘s too hot again.”

OH FOR HYLIAS SAKE REVALI!

In the end, it’s best to just throw off the blanket and try to ignore your bratty lovers whining for the night

Eventually, a pair of wings will wrap around you body and pull you into a chestful of feathers from behind

You can feel Revali nuzzle his beak into your shoulder

“That’s better...” He slurs. He passes out immediately after

...Okay, maybe he was a little cute like this

You still totally intend to tease him in the morning 

You recall some particular photos that were taken with the sheikah slate that night and can’t wait to show him
