I decided to design Ilaan's brother who was killed pre-DAI because @haezelnut has been posting their wonderful Lavellan siblings together and I got inspired!

This is Revas Lavellan. He was 3 years younger than Ilaan and died a little over a year before the events of DAI, when soldiers attacked them on the road. He was a fierce warrior who loved wittling and metal working, and spending time with his sister and friends when he wasn't busy training or out protecting the Clan. He and Ilaan shared similaries in green eye color and platinum blond hair color. Revas looked a bit more like their dad, while Ilaan looks more like their mom. Both had long hair that they helped each other tie up in plaits with decorations that he crafted - a bonding activity that they cherished.

(I tried to balance the colors between these photos but one was taken with my phone and with the PS photo app and I couldn't get it any better. 🥲)

revas thinks the world of her mother (nessa lavellan) until she gets older and starts to put Big Pieces together, realizing that her mom kept so much secret from her

her father - solas - was around when she was a baby, too young to remember him, then left as she started growing up. but he stayed connected to her, appearing as a wolf in her dreams, but she didn't know that was her father

and nessa never talks about who her father was. how he was, yes; what kind of man he was. but not his name. not that he is the dread wolf

eventually, after the events of veilguard, nessa is reunited with solas (he is working with the titans, but when he's exhausted from his efforts he returns for a time to the lighthouse, where he lives with nessa, revas, and daw, and kieran, and morrithal is there frequently [they have a complex and spanning dynamic lmao]) and solas and morrigan train revas in her magic. morrigan had become her default teacher, although solas - in wolf form, in her dreams - did what he could to guide her as well, introducing her to helpful spirits and teaching her much of the fade

so she's living in the lighthouse and she's around 11. has grown up with nessa and morrigan feeling like her parents, and with kieran like an older brother. there are other ppl she knows - blackwall, leliana, she met dorian a few times, when he could be pulled away from tevinter, and she ends up meeting some of the veilguard as well - but those are the major figures in her life. and at the lighthouse, solas and daw aldwir join in as major figures, and she begins to see nessa, morrigan, daw, and solas all as parents

none of which is strange to her btw. she's had little interaction with other children and little context for "typical" family structures

anyway, she doesn't really get what all is happening. she doesn't understand all the things that happened during inq, or trespasser, or veilguard, or the time between. but she also doesn't know what all is happening around her right now. she quickly learns her father's name is solas, and that he's sometimes called the dread wolf or fen'harel, but those titles don't mean anything to her - nessa is her only source for dalish legends, and she never could bring herself to share the stories of the dread wolf

kieran knows, but he's overly protective of revas, trying to insulate her from the world (flemythal was too controlling of morrigan, so then morrigan is a little too free with kieran, so kieran is a little too protective of revas, and on the cycles go)

and idk how exactly she learns. but when she does, it's the first time she becomes really angry at her mother. and, at the same time, she's finally getting to know her father and has been becoming closer with him. so she has this time where she treats nessa very coldly and only acts enthusiastic to see solas, which pains all of them

solas tries to encourage mother and daughter back together, but revas is still so angry, and nessa understands that anger and doesn't want to push. the whole thing becomes very strained

i think as the information settles in, revas will be able to slowly let go of her anger. it will remain, and her trust in her mother will be impacted by it, but it won't be as overwhelming forever as it is at the beginning. but i do think it driving her in solas' direction is something that sticks

frankly, i see her eventually, as a young woman, joining him in his efforts with the titans

(nessa has joined him, as well. as has daw. but neither of them are mages, and revas is, and she's fascinated by all of it, and joining him makes her feel very important, and he is a soft touch for her big pleading eyes)

I was tagged by @miladydewintcr to make some OCs in this cute lil picrew here! Tysm!! I loved seeing your DA OCs as well!!

So in my main world state, I have:

Risa Aeducan - the cutest little berserker to ever get banished from Orzammar. She's duty-driven and pragmatic but ultimately tries to do what's 'right' - though what is right is sometimes subjective.

Catelyn Hawke - She's such a mess. Chaotic bisexual archetype to a T and matches both Anders and Justice's freak.

Gwydion 'Revas' Lavellan - Doomed by the narrative™️ and reluctant shem-liker extraordinaire. He'd like to retire but plot and his sense of duty say no.

Also have a bonus Caspar Ingellvar since I'm finally beginning to nail down what I'd like him to look like!

Got to commission @hansaera to do another piece for me after her comeback! So glad to see and hear from her ❤️ She does my Revas justice 👌🏽 I imagined her taking a dip in the ancient baths whenever she gets the chance at the exalted plains. The atmosphere is calming to her and the near by Dalish camp helps her better remember her own family.

@dalishious made an elven character creator for Dragon Age and I got hooked ( it is HERE if you want it).

So… here:

Naomhan Tabris. A good kid who was full of dreams about being a great hero who would lead the world into respecting his people only to watch as they put more focus on his companions and not him. After her saved his father from a riot, Naomhan was bitter enough to follow the woman he loved (Morrigan) through the mirror, bringing his father with him.

Thea Surana. An intelligent mage who tended to prefer the truth over white lies, Thea was used to being able to over come thing through willpower alone. Being out in the world though taught her more then books ever did and she learned that sometimes lies or misdirection was needed. She comes from Rivani and had gotten her tattoo and piercings done in secret, hoping to one day go to the homeland she dimly remembered before her magic manifested.

Davalla Lavellan. My delightful himbo lady warrior who likes to chase dragons and wrestle with Bull. She is intelligent and quick witted, managing to get a full court approval (I still let Celene die though ✨tragic✨). She’s just also the person to get distracted or over eager to hunt down dragons or poke at giants. She’s huge on staying true to yourself owning what you believe in, which led to some issues down the road with Sera and later when her lover Solas left.

Revas Lavellan!! I originally shelved her after wanting to replay the games but I delight in her to much to let go. So instead I kept her wok editing her enough to not do the same thing. I also edited her name after learning of the… issues reguarding the person’s lexicon I took the name from.

Revas is a rouge who has a bit of a devil may care attitude. After spiders destroyed her first clan a when she was in her twenties vallaslin, she became very ‘live in the moment’. She found the Lavellan clan after her clan’s death and began searching for her baby sister who had been alive during the attack on the clan but awakened her magic quite late in life as she herself had just gotten her vallaslin. Harellen was caught by Templars in a town they passed though, being dragged off. Revas devoted her life to find her… and did, selling wares with a blank face. Revas kidnapped Harellen to take her to Lavellan where the former mage became a craftsmen.

Of course we have my AU of this…

Harellen Lavellan. A world where Revas fought off the Templars and Harellen fled into the forest where she found a clan. Young and never trained, Harellen devoted herself to work as a mage, hoping in her heart to bring her sister back to her. She eventually started going by Harel when her interests became more macibure and more into the idea of the dead coming back. She was eventually traded to the Lavellan clan who were welcoming of Harel’s interests in things like entropy and necromancy. Harel eventually accepted she would never bring her sister back but devoted herself to her studies.
