Reviewing the New Villainous/Villainos poster bc it’s continuing in 2027（＾ν＾）

I’m mostly just reviewing the character designs (￣▽￣)

Starting off strong with my husband 💙✈️🥼

IDK why, but Flug seems a bit more…disturbing (in a way)

Comparing him to his 2021 design where he’s holding some blueprints and observing a vital (he seems more focus on that one). To his current one, there’s about him holding the Hat Bot’s head while his eye is twitching. He seems more stressed, sleep depraved, or better yet unhinged.

Nothing too special change about his design, he just got darker pants. Which is fine, because his design is already peak 💙

Next is this diva 💚🎸🦎

This might just be me, but I swear I remember Dem’s older design having her hair drag down the floor like the new one.

Anyways, she looks so much more threatening and mischievous in her new design, I think it’s because of how her eyebrows are placed, how she’s posing, or how the teeth are drawn (like how noticable her fangs are) in the newer poster. Either way I LOVE IT!!

Honestly— she’s rocking the shorts better than the skirt.

My son got hair!!!

Same as Flug, nothing too crazy change about 5.0.5. Which makes sense cause he’s just got a little puffy of hair and his flower got shorter.

I think that makes sense, because he’s a giant blue bear.

I don’t really got an opinion for V.I.R.U.S, but at the same time I don’t mind that he’s the fifth member.

What can I say? I have a thing for robots, AIs, and in this case…viruses 💙

Final thoughts-

The designs are fire, I am excited for part 2! I think this got me to rewatch the first part of the season ✨

Just watched the movie Riley, which stars Connor Storrie as Liam Hauser, an openly gay high school student who catches the eye of the sexually confused/closeted Dakota Riley (played by Jake Holley). This was the first role of Connor's that I've seen outside of Heated Rivalry, and I wanted to share my thoughts.

At first glance, you would not even immediately recognize Connor, as his appearance is so dramatically different from how he looks as Ilya. There's an almost ethereal quality to him as Liam, something mesmerizingly beautiful, with those golden curls, angular cheekbones, and magnetic green-blue eyes. Yet Connor also grounds the character completely, never making him an archetype of queerness, but someone who is out and just...himself.

Connor truly stole every scene he was in, without a doubt. When he was on screen, you could not take your eyes off him. The energy and pacing flagged noticeably without him, which at least in some part felt like it was because of the main character, Dakota. Jake did not seem to have chemistry with anyone he played opposite of--not the older man Dakota was hooking up with, not Dakota's girlfriend, and not with Connor. Connor, who could have chemistry with a doorknob, and yet the relationship with Dakota never felt like it went below the surface because Jake was so noticeably stiff, especially in contrast to Connor giving the role everything he had and then some.

Liam was the kind of character that could have been completely one-dimensional--forgettable, or worse, a cautionary tale--and yet we saw the worlds living underneath his eyes. Connor was convincing because he is such a chameleon and can believably embody anyone--gay, straight, bi, anywhere in between. And just as he did with Ilya, Connor gave Liam so much depth and nuance and made him so interesting to watch because we never knew what he was going to do next, and he kept making us want to see more and to know more of who Liam is.

The other thing I really thought was interesting and well done was the representation of an out gay man constantly having to protect a closeted one, and seeing from his perspective. Seeing Liam facing the consequences both for being out, and for Dakota not being out or willing to stand up for Liam against homophobia. I couldn't help wondering how much of Connor's performance was informed by his own upbringing in West Texas. That sensitive artist boy, that "sissy" (as he has called himself) who didn't fit in and had to fight to be who he was. That thing you could feel and see in the way Liam got into the face of the homophobes, but also stood up for himself with Dakota. I don't think we would've gotten the layered performance that we did from any other actor, and I'm so glad that Connor was the one playing him.

In many ways, Connor reminds me of Michael, delivering a character study and standout performance in an otherwise average/underwhelming movie. (Michael as Castor in "Tron: Legacy" or Miles in "Bright Young Things" in particular come to mind.) Connor is also a generational talent whose career is just getting started, and if what he gave us in Heated Rivalry and Riley is any indication, I absolutely cannot wait to see more from him...

May & Henry being scared for their mom, Eddie praying, Buck trying to stay alongside Henry, Ravi being there for May, Chimney not knowing how to help, Chimney checking on Hen constantly 🥹🥹🥹

I knew the Buck + Henry team-up would be good, but I wasn’t expecting it to be this cute!!

So glad everybody made it out the hospital alive, I WAS SO WORRIED (& my mom actually) ABOUT EDDIE, thank goodness Buck noticed his absence 🤭

May and Ravi were so so adorable 🥰😭

finally!!! we see the Wilsons again, it’s been WAAAYY too long… Like, actually WERE HAVE THEY BEEN, WHY ARE YOU GIVING SO LITTLE SPACE TO OUT FAV LESBIANS + KIDS ??!! 💔

FINALLY Athena changed career, it has been in the subliminals for too long, and she’s waayy too skilled to not be a detective 🕵🏽‍♀️🥰

Buck adopted Theo 😭😭😭 bye I’m so emotional. I can’t wait to see more of these two, they’re going to be so cute + Buckaroo is going to break the generational trauma cycle and be a great father. 🫂🫂

To quote a very wise woman, my mom, “They cancelled Lone:Star for Nashville?! You gotta be kidding me”. That’s how I feel about the show.

(my mom had never seen the show, so I’m watching it alongside her and she ADORES IT SO MUCH, she’s so disappointed they cancelled her beloved LS for Nashville… 👀)

SO THEY FINALLY CAME TODAY, HERE IS WHAT THEY BOTH LOOK LIKE IN THE BOX ALONGSIDE WHAT THE BACK OF THE BOX LOOKS LIKE, THE DESCRIPTIONS MADE ME LAUGH 😭 I LOVE THEM

AND HERE IS WHAT THEY BOTH LOOK LIKE OUTSIDE OF THE BOX, THEY’RE BOTH VERY GOOD DETAIL BUT I DO HAPPEN TO FAVOUR ZOOBLE OUT OF THIS ORDER I MADE AS THEIR FIGURINE DESIGN IS SO SO COOL AND THERE IS JUST SO MANY DETAILS TO IT

I also did get the big pomni plush, but I’ll make a separate post about that one in a few minutes…

ANWAYS, I LOVE THESE FIGURINES SO MUCH AND I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING THE FULL SET OF FIGURINES WHEN THE GANGLE AND RAGATHA EPISODES ARE OUT ‼️

A review for the reviewer

Giving a shoutout/ appreciation for the lovely beta reader @ayindereadseditor !

They read through one of my longer fics, and gave me a very thorough and detailed review.

I didn't specify to focus on what so they provided a wide range of critique and praise in equal measure; pointing out typos, tense slips, grammar mistakes and flow structure but also pointed out elements that i did well and what caught their eye.

They were also able to point out the subtler details which show they really paid attention to the writing/ word choice. Particularly, the kind of personality and intentional contradictions/ complexities my characters hinted at. They were able to correctly identify my intent with them

I definitely reccomended them to anyone who is looking for a professional and thorough editer/ beta reader!

Just watched Abigail and it’s kind of a sleeper hit. At least for me. The movie manages to combine the best kinds of suspense you get in both horror and heist films and even manages to flesh out a surprisingly likeable main cast to get munched on. Seriously builds a great atmosphere of paranoia, suspicion and mistrust all through the film. If it sounds like you’re thing I’d highly recommend checking it out. Was not expecting it to have such a good time and I’ll sing this film’s praise if no one else will lol.

I'm drafting a review post. (It's gonna be great. I plan for it to be ~650 words long.) As I was drafting, though, Tumblr must have glitched, 'cause it disappeared. I'm a little shook, to be honest. This hasn't happened before. I really hope this doesn't delay the post's posting much. I initially planned on posting it this upcoming Wednesday. Fortunately, I had most of the synopsis section and my outline saved on a document, so I'll be able to restart from there. But most of the post is just gone.

Anyone else have something similar happen to them?
