I think the first canon character I likely wrote online would have been Kanji Tatsumi from Persona 4. I am going to assume this was Gaia Online.

Otherwise, my first offline main would have been Marik Ishtar from Yugioh. Prior to the internet we would use pen and paper, or scream in the woods.
