The moment he received the message from Yuuko to meet her in their usual park, Watanuki had a feeling in the back of his gut that the first snowy day of the year was going to be much more irritating than he originally anticipated. Though the scenery of winter was peaceful; white blanketing everything it touched, his day off from work suddenly was not that anymore. Instead of being able to enjoy time away from the shop, not having to worry about doing chores or cooking, the boy now found himself standing in the freezing winter with his boss, and the most annoying person in his life. And for some reason, Yuuko expect them both to--
“Play in the snow?! At our age?!”
Probably for her own enjoyment and entertainment, the woman had tasked both Doumeki and Watanuki with building snowmen. Despite his confusion and protests, it didn’t seem like either of them would be getting out of the situation that easily; Watanuki only going along with it at the thought of Himawari maybe seeing what he had made, and being happy with it! Though the cold nipped at his skin, colouring the tip of his nose and his cheeks with red, the boy still sat in the chilly substance; gloved hands moving and smoothing out the snow to create what he had set in his mind.
Though, his attention seemed to deviate for a moment as he heard steps approaching him; at first thinking it was his employer checking on his progress.. but despite the long, dark silky hair that fell past her shoulders, Watanuki’s gaze soon told him that this was a very different person than Yuuko.
“.. eh?”
It was.. a girl, who he had never seen before; he couldn’t even remember there being anyone else in this park besides the three of them. When.. had she gotten there? .. and how long had she been watching him?
“Ah--” heat suddenly rose to the surface of Watanuki’s face; outshining the cold that could be seen against his skin. She looked to be almost the same age as him, so she probably thought it was extremely childish of him to be doing this, but-- how could he explain it without it sounding really strange? “E-er... h.. hello! You weren’t, um.. w-wanting to build a snowman too, were you?” Of course she wasn’t, but with how embarrassed he was, it was difficult for him to find anything else to say.
