i am on a med called rinvoq. so is my aunt. i’m ignoring a football game right now except a rinvoq commercial came on and the entire house stopped to cheer for it and the fact that according to this advertisement i can not only play baseball well, but also do a backflip

It’s the scariest time ever once again. Starting new medication for my Rheumatoid Arthritis. Nothing is worse than when your medicine stops working. Until 2020 I was on Humira for 5 years and it was an absolute god send for me, unfortunately I built up antibodies. My rheumatologist and myself have played the waiting game, we went from Plaquenil to Simponi and then to Orencia. During this time I’ve had to fight insurance for approval, join savings clubs cause even with amazing insurance my copay was 500 for a month supply of Orencia before the savings program. Once you play the waiting game then you have to play will this work game, followed by what new side effects am I going to have. Orencia gave me excessive sebum production and I felt like a teenager again. Rinvoq looks to be a good option for me, it’s made by the company who made Humira, it’s in trials to cover a multitude of more conditions and my rheumatologist is thankful I’m a willing “lab rat” (My words not his) to help other patients in his practice who are afraid to start biologics and Dmards. [Drug name] Generic name: Upadacitinib Sustained Tablets

Trade name: Ruifu

English name: Upadacitinib Sustained

[Ingredients] The main ingredient of this product is upadacitinib.

[Properties] This product is a purple (15mg specification) or red (30mg specification) oval biconvex film-coated tablet. After removing the coating, it is white to off-white to light yellow to gray-brown to light brown, and spots may appear.

[Indications] This product is suitable for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and above with refractory, moderate to severe atopic dermatitis who have poor response to other systemic treatments (such as hormones or biological agents) or are not suitable for the above treatments.

[Dosage and Administration] Treatment with upadacitinib should be initiated by and used under the guidance of a physician who has experience in the diagnosis and treatment of this product's indications. Dosage The starting dose for children aged 12 years and older and weighing ≥ 40 kg and adults up to 65 years of age is 15 mg once daily. If the response is poor, consider increasing the dose to 30 mg once daily. If the 30 mg dose does not achieve an adequate response, discontinue this product. The lowest effective dose required should be used to maintain the response. The safety and efficacy of this product has not been studied in adolescents weighing less than 40 kg. The recommended dose for adults aged 65 years and older is 15 mg once daily. Data for patients aged ≥ 75 years are limited. Recommended dose for patients with renal impairment or severe hepatic impairment Renal impairment Patients with mild or moderate renal impairment do not require dose adjustment. There are limited data on the use of upadacitinib in patients with severe renal impairment (see [Pharmacokinetics]). Upadacitinib 15 mg once daily should be used with caution in patients with severe renal impairment. Upadacitinib 30 mg once daily is not recommended in patients with severe renal impairment. Upadacitinib has not been studied in subjects with end-stage renal disease. No dose adjustment is required for patients with mild (Child-Pugh A) or moderate (Child-Pugh B) hepatic impairment (see [Pharmacokinetics]). This product should not be used in patients with severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh C) (see [Contraindications]). Usage This product can be taken with or without food and at any time of the day. This product should be swallowed whole and should not be broken, crushed or chewed to ensure that the full dose is administered. Combined topical treatment This product can be initiated with or without topical corticosteroids It is not recommended to start treatment with this product in patients with an absolute lymphocyte count (ALC) less than 500 cells/mm3, an absolute neutrophil count (ANC) less than 1000 cells/mm3, or a hemoglobin level less than 8 g/dL. (See [Precautions] and [Adverse Reactions]). Suspension of administration If a patient develops a serious infection, treatment with this drug should be suspended until the infection is under control.

So I have eczema and it's moderate to severe.

I can't have steroid creams because i have dermatillomania and there is a lot of open sores.

A cream that worked started to not work and made my rashes worse.

I started dupixent which is a shot that made more rashes appear.

And now I'm getting ready to start Rinvoq which is a pill. And I'm gonna start it when my cough goes away.....

The MOST common side effects that the pamphlet said were: Respiratory infections, shingles, flu like illnesses.

I was expecting nausea, diarrhea, trouble sleeping nope full on infections. Idk how but literally just said Respiratory tract infections.

Mom asked if my eczema has been bothering me lately and I said no. And then I realized I've never felt relief. So I don't know if it's been bothering me because it's there 24/7. I itch day and night. Subconsciously I itch.

So yeah hoping Rinvoq will help or something.

I have so much to think about before Friday. All meds related. Switching from one to another because the new one sounds promising. Howe ever, there’s only one particular side effects from the black box warning that keeps haunting me. Also, what’s the point when my insurance ends with my dad in a couple months…I won’t be able to pay for the copay. Why feel happy for two months if it’s gonna get taken away from me so quickly. Least i have mtx to fall back too and it’s been doing what it needs for me to survive

Rinvoq scores positive results as a maintenance therapy for ulcerative colitis #ulcerativecolitis #Rinvoq “AbbVie’s JAK inhibitor Rinvoq met the primary and all secondary endpoints in a Phase III ulcerative colitis maintenance study, the company announced earlier this week. The ongoing maintenance study is evaluating the efficacy and safety of once-daily Rinvoq (upadacitinib) 15 mg and 30 mg in patients with moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis. According to AbbVie, a significantly higher proportion of Rinvoq-treated patients achieved clinical remission at week 52 compared to placebo – the primary study endpoint. Patients who achieved a clinical response following an eight-week study period of once-daily Rinvoq induction treatment were re-randomised to receive Rinvoq 15 mg, Rivoq 30 mg or placebo for an additional 52 weeks. In addition to hitting the primary endpoint, all secondary endpoints were also met.
