It was already dusk when they finished the chores of the day, chilled to the bone and exhausted.
Snowflakes whirled around them as they got back from the stables, their boots sinking into the thick layer of snow with crunching sounds. They hunched against the relentless wind to cross the courtyard.
Leading the way, Captain Levi finally pushed the heavy wooden door open and a gust of icy wind followed his squad as they entered the HQ main building. Snow clung to their cloaks and boots, seeping through the fabric.
"I can’t stand this weather anymore," Oluo grumbled, shaking his head like a wet dog as he stepped in.
Eld stomped his boots against the floor, sending chunks of snow flying. "It’s warmer in here," he said.
"Barely." Gunther tugged off his gloves, his frosty breath hanging in the air.
"Well it's winter," Levi began. "What do you expect other than shitty snowstorms and freezing your balls off?" He brushed the snow off his own shoulders with brisk, efficient movements. His dark hair was damp, flattened by the snowfall.
His sharp, steely eyes swept over the group to fix on a shivering Petra. She pulled her hood down, slightly shaking out her hair. A few strands stuck to her cheeks, and she pushed them back with gloved hands, her gestures still graceful after hours cleaning the stables.
When Petra caught his gaze and smiled, Levi turned abruptly to walk down the hallway.
"C’mon, let's get to the mess hall," he growled.
They headed further inside, their boots leaving a wet trail on the stones. The old walls were awfully quiet at this time of the year, but they could hear the muffled sound of laughter and clinking mugs coming from the dining hall.
Light streamed through the door left ajar. Levi stepped inside first, his squad filing in behind him, the warmth reaching them immediately. A welcoming mix of spices and baked goods made Petra’s stomach growl.
The fire was crackling in the hearth and candles flickered on a long table. Scouts who hadn’t gone home for the Yuletide season were gathered there, chatting and laughing. Hange stood by the stove, stirring a pot of steaming mulled wine, while Nifa placed a tray of golden oat cakes on the table.
"Finally," Oluo exclaimed, rubbing his hands together. "Something to warm us up."
They shook off the last remnants of snow as they found themselves drawn toward the inviting atmosphere.
Petra’s cheeks were flushed from the sudden change in temperature, her eyes bright.
Settled in a corner of the room, Levi remained quiet, his expression unreadable. His gaze lingered on Petra for a while as she unfastened her cloak, snowflakes melting into droplets in her hair. She glanced at him, her lips curving into a small smile before she joined the others by the fire.
Levi’s eyes shifted away.
Hange’s mulled wine filled the air with the spicy scent of cloves, cinnamon, and oranges.
As the evening flew by, only a small group lingered near the hearth, Levi’s squad and Hange’s squad. Petra sat in the middle of the gathering, her cheeks glowing from the wine and the firelight. She was laughing at a joke when Moblit came closer.
"Happy birthday, Petra," he said, handing her a beautiful drawing of a serene landscape and a pouch of chocolates. "It’s from all of us in Hange's squad."
Petra’s eyes widened as she took the gifts. "Moblit, this is… Thank you all so much. It’s beautiful."
"Moblit is insanely talented," Hange chimed in, grinning and clapping him on the back. "You should draw more in your free time."
Moblit muttered something about Hange's experiments keeping him too busy and poured himself another mug of mulled wine.
This was Oluo's cue to step forward, holding a small tin in his hand. "And this is from Levi's squad," he announced, puffing out his chest. "Fine black tea. Imported."
He glanced at his Captain as if seeking approval.
Petra thanked her comrades with a soft chuckle. Her eyes drifted on Levi as she cradled the gift in her hands. "You always know exactly what I like."
Levi gave her a quick nod, taking a sip of his tea to avoid speaking. Her gaze lingered a bit longer on him before she turned back to the others.

As the evening wore on, Petra grew visibly more relaxed, her usually composed demeanor replaced by giggles and clumsy gestures. Maybe she had enjoyed Hange’s mulled wine a bit too much and as she reached for a slice of oat cake, she nearly knocked her mug over.
"Oi, Petra," Levi said, standing beside her chair. "You've had enough for tonight. Let's get you to your room before you pass out and make me deal with the mess."
Petra giggled, clearly tipsy. She looked up, her amber eyes meeting his. For a moment, the noise in the room seemed to fade and Levi had to avert his gaze to break the spell.
"You’re right, Captain. I think I need to rest."
When she stood to leave, her steps wobbled, and Levi offered her his arm.
"You’re always looking out for me, Captain."
"Someone has to," Levi replied dryly, though his steady grip on her arm was far gentler than his tone suggested.
The halls were freezing, their breaths visible in the dim light of the flickering torches. Petra shivered and Levi wrapped his jacket around her shoulders.
"Thanks for the tea," she said after a moment, her voice soft. "I know it's from your personal supplies. You're always so thoughtful, Captain."
"It’s nothing," Levi replied, keeping his tone neutral. "Don’t read too much into it."
They had reached her room door, and Petra turned to face him, still holding his arm. Her eyes shone brightly.
"No, really. Thank you for everything,"'she said, her voice dropping to a whisper. “"You're more… You're thoughtful. And kind. Even if you try to hide it."
Levi frowned. "You’re drunk, Petra. Go to bed."
She laughed softly, and before he could step away, she leaned up and kissed him. Her lips were warm and tasted faintly of mulled wine, lingering on his just long enough to make his breath hitch.
When she pulled back, her cheeks were even redder, though whether from the wine or embarrassment, Levi couldn't tell.
"Happy Yuletide, Captain," she murmured. "And I…" She hesitated, then added quickly, "I appreciate you."
Levi blinked, caught completely off guard. His face remained impassive, but his mind raced.
"Petra," he uttered in a breath. "Get some rest."
Petra smiled and nodded, fumbling with the handle of her door.
"Goodnight, Captain," she whispered before slipping inside, the door clicking softly behind her.
Levi stood there for a moment, staring at the door. The cold seeped through his shirt, but he hardly felt it.
That kiss, so light, so fleeting, so warm, lingered and her words echoed over and over in his mind.
With a deep breath, he turned and headed back to the kitchen. The fire had burned lower, and the room was empty and quiet now. He sank into a chair by the hearth, rubbing a hand over his face. His thoughts refused to settle, replaying the feel of her lips and the look in her eyes.
"Shit," he muttered to himself.
For the first time in a long while, Levi found himself at a loss.

Canonverse, in which Petra and Levi elope.
"I'm home."
"Home" still felt like an odd word on his tongue. It was a pleasant change from the shithole he had shared with Kenny in the Underground what seemed like a lifetime ago. The thought of the grime covering the walls and the dirty mattress Kenny had called a bed made him shiver, and instead, he focused his sight on the yellow curtains Petra had recently sewn for their kitchen.
Lately, life had been treating him... well. After years of constant fighting to survive, he struggled to comprehend the safety of a home. But Petra had changed his life completely. And while life by her side was quiet most of the time, ghosts from his past would haunt him and cause the restless nights he had not missed. He could not argue he had been happier since leaving the military life behind, but the guilt would eat at him as Levi thought of the people he had left behind, as well.
As always, Petra's face lit up at the sight of her husband coming back home to her after a full day of work with a flower in hand. A small habit he had picked up after leaving Petra on her own for most of the day. While their military pension used to cover most of their expenses, as Petra's due date was getting closer, Levi picked up a job at a farm nearby.
"The vase is on the dinner table," Petra said as she continued to stir in her pot of stew. She had never been a decent cook, but thankfully for her, Levi would even eat burnt food if he knew it came from her. If it was out of love for her or related to his upbringing, Petra did not know. Levi was the better cook of the two of them, but his job had kept him busy most of the time. Of course, he would always spoil her with her favourite dish as soon as he had the time for it. He loved having someone to dote upon.
Petra's hand immediately dropped to her bump as she pictured Levi with a small bundle in his arms. She could sense his nervousness as the due date approached, and the thoughts of impending fatherhood occupied his mind more often each day, but she had no doubts. Despite what people might have imagined, Levi was an extraordinary husband, and she was sure fatherhood would suit him as well.
After putting the flower along with the others, Levi wrapped his arms around Petra's waist, resting his head on her shoulder. A smile came upon his lips as he inhaled the scent of lavender emanating from her skin. His favourite one she loved to wear for him.
"I can't believe this is real," Levi whispered as he closed his eyes, as if he were in a dream he was frightened he would wake up from. He had shared Erwin's wish once, or what he thought it to be, but all he needed, for now, was to wake up with the love of his life in his arms.
"If someone had told me years ago we would be here..." Petra stopped abruptly in the middle of the sentence, as the grim reminder the people from their past had left them ahead of their time. Knowing what her silence meant, Levi wrapped his arms tighter around her form.
"Do you think they blame us?" Petra often inquired. While the fight with the Female Titan had left her incapacitated, Levi had been their hope once. And while she had initially decided to refuse his question to elope, she could not find it in herself to do so as she saw what the pain of losing Erwin caused him. And she loved him, plain and simple.
"I don't know," Levi answered honestly. He knew Hange had understood and signed his resignation papers without much trouble, but he could sense it was with a heavy heart as the dangers of the outside world made themselves known. He was aware humanity still needed him to fight, but he had no fight left in him. For now, at least. He had often thought of the possibility of being called to pick up arms again and how he would respond to it.
He had not told Petra about it, but he did not need to. She knew him well enough to have his cape and ODM gear ready and packed for when it happened. Levi would always fight for a better world for her and their child to live in.
"I spoiled the mood," she remarked with a sad smile on her lips. But the people they had lost were always on their minds. She could only hope they would be happy for them.
But before he could get a word out, Petra crashed his lips onto his, and he understood the message. Sometimes, being silent was the better answer.
"I was going to make a shit joke to lighten up the mood." No shit jokes while we eat, he could hear Petra's warning echoing through his mind. She had accepted his unusual humour, but she had her limits. He deepened the kiss, but Petra pulled away from him.
"I know," she responded smugly. Levi had always been an easy read for her. And because of it, she knew what he had in mind even before his hand trailed up her thigh.
"That's for dessert," she replied with a smirk as she walked away from him, with the unspoken promise of continuing after dinner.
Idk what this is but it's the first thing that came to mind lol (I’m thinking of also creating an HC list in the future but idk yet)
Still, thanks for the prompt @himebee-5! It gave me a reason to bully Eld, Oluo and Gunther.
Word count: 701
- - -
Eld, Oluo and Gunther admire their captain. Really, they do! Other than his dedication to the Scouts’ cause and his awe-inspiring skill on the battlefield, they know how their commanding officer cared for his comrades in his own way. They’ve witnessed him holding the bloody hands of soldiers as life leaves them, promising to continue to fight in their stead.
But like with every other person, the shorter man has his own set of flaws. The most glaring one for their team?
Captain Levi has favorites. A red-headed one, to be exact.
Jinn, Bozado, Schultz. The three of you, drop and give me 50.
"Ral, you can do 30 instead."
Eld, Oluo, Gunther, your cleaning's getting shittier every single day.
"Petra, you missed one spot. Don’t worry, I'll take over."
Oi, you three! Clean this shit up. This better be fucking spotless when I get back in two minutes.
"Ral, leave the cleaning to the guys. I need help with next week's paperwork."
You three sissy bitches. You can't even take down one titan by yourselves! The fuck did I choose you for?
"Great assist, Ral."
Eld, Gunther. Go after the titan on the right. Oluo, you're with me.
"Oi, Petra. Tend to the injured recruit."
Gunther, who said you get free pass to read right now? I don’t recall dismissing the team.
“Petra, you look like shit right now. Rest up.”
Eld, you call this tea? I might as well drink boiled water.
"Thank you, Petra. Maybe you can hold lessons for these three imbeciles."
Shut the fuck up and keep up, Oluo.
"It's fine, Petra. Let's just go."
At first, they thought it was because Petra's a girl. That perception changed when they witnessed the captain train female Survey Corps recruits the same way he trains his elite members (or at least, the three male members of the special ops).
And as much as they look up to Captain Levi, everything has a limit. Having had enough of the captain's favoritism, Gunther and Oluo pushed Eld to talk to their superior insisting that he’s the 2nd in command and it's his responsibility in the first place.
"That's it. Captain, this is unfair! Why don't you treat us the same way you treat Petra?"
Levi finishes up with tying his cravat before he looks up to the blonde man, bored gaze unsettling as his eyes take in his three male subordinates. For someone with a short stature, the captain sure knows how to make the three of them combined feel smaller.
The four of them are quiet for a bit, staring each other down. Oluo seems to be close to peeing his pants with the way the captain's cold gaze never left them.
Petra's entrance into the room was almost a relief. Good, maybe she’ll break up this tension? The peace didn’t last long when the captain, without straying his gaze on the three men, addressed Petra.
"Ral, marry me."
"W-what?" The ginger sputtered out. She almost dropped the two buckets of water she brought along as the team were supposed to mop the floor this afternoon (well... it’s actually just the three men since she’ll be joining the captain in town today).
"You heard me."
"Y-yes, sir!" She salutes him, trying (and failing) to hide a giddy smile from forming on her face. A blush starts to bloom on her cheeks in her attempt to get a hold of herself.
The captain dismisses her, telling her to get ready for their trip to shop for supplies. They didn’t miss how there seems to be an extra spring in Petra’s every step as she hurries out.
Levi's eyes never left the three men in front of him. Instead of the brave face that they were all trying to pull together earlier on, all of their mouths have now dropped in shock and disbelief at what they just witnessed. Oluo must have bitten his tongue in shock during the whole interaction because now his mouth is bleeding.
"Still want me to treat you the same way I treat Petra?"
He's doing it again. It was his throw-away look he had perfected during his years being her commanding officer. Just a quick look. You would never able to tell if he's staring or just stretching his neck.
His eyes lingered on her with a hint of longing and adoration, like she was the only thing keeping his pieces together. Again -in his own way, that for other people just look like his usual bored look (scarier, even)
Meanwhile, the object of his intense stare remains oblivious. Basking in the sun, her hair looks lighter than her usual strawberry blonde. There is some stray hair that sticks to her sweaty-from-training face. She talked animatedly to her teammates, generously giving them her overly bright smile that reached her luminescent eyes.
Erwin looked in the direction of the captain's stare, smiled, nudge him lightly, and said,
"The Expedition's in a week, Levi."
(There are things that better left unsaid, after all.)

This is the story of Petra when wall maria falls and met Levi for the first time..
4730 words
Fall Of Shiganshina
It was year 845, also known as the “Death Year” after having a peaceful life for more than hundred years. Not even a single person inside the wall knew that day would come like hell. Not even the young girl, who just graduated as one of the top 10 from her trainee corps, Petra Ral.
It was the usual afternoon where the new graduate almost finishing their first task patroling inside the walls. New graduates are mostly patroling inside the inner wall of wall maria and helps the garrison member occasionally. In a week more, the new graduate must decide what corps they would like to join. The Military Police, Garrison, or even the Scouting Legion. While most trainees already decided where they want to be, for some reason it wasn’t that easy for Petra.
She was assigned to help the garrison to patrol in a small town inside wall maria quite far from Shiganshina but not quiet near wall rose. Her shift ends at 3pm as she went back to the garrison headquarter. Most of the senior members were just slacking off the job and handling all over the work to the youngster. All they did were just playing cards and go drunk. What a useless soldier she thought. But it was already a common sight that none ever complained about it, not even her. She went inside a small room where the new trainee use it especially just for them with just a simple table of four in the center and some bookcase. She had a long sigh while opening the door when someone greeted her across the room.
“Hi Petra!” A young girl with black ponytail hair greeted her with a big grin on her face
“Hi Emily, you finished early” Petra replied
“yeah, I slacked 30 minutes though hihi~” Emily replied with a playful voice.
“That’s so you” Petra sat on the chair across her.
“It can’t be helped,, our job is soooo boring...we keep helping the citizens here for a month!” She slapped the table and look outside the window
Petra looked at her while squinting her eyes.
“Military Police is just the same right? Helping the citizens....” It flew out from her mouth
“Basicly, but it’s inside the inner walls so it’s different!” Emily replied with annoyed face
“So you have decided to join the military police..Emily..?” Petra asked carefully
Feeling the change of atmosphere, they went into a silence for couple of seconds. Emily looked down.
“Well...you see..I never thought that i would be the number 10th at graduation...When I return to home, my parents were so proud of me that they insist me to join the military police..cause.. why not..? that’s prize you get for being the best 10 right? ...So i think..it’s the best choice..”
Petra looked straightly at her with a hint of sadness
“I’m sorry...Petra...I know we promise to join the scouting legion.. but it was 2 years ago.. things are different now!..well if I’m not the top 10 i would still reconsider join the scouting legion but it’s just hard when i went home hearing my parents,, thinking of it...it’s just hard..” Emily’s voice gone quieter
Now both of them looked down in silence. Emily is one of Petra’s closest friend in trainee days. She didn’t like the idea of separation with her good friend that always be there for her. But as the time goes by she knew that it wouldn’t be forever.
“I understand...Emily, goodluck with that” Petra was the one who break the ice, her warm smile now visible under the afternoon sunlight.
“Thankyou..Petra..God..Why won’t you just join the MPs” Said Emily with annoyed voice
“Actually...My dad insist me too...”
“See?!! Then why?!”
“I told you my reason before right..?”
“Yes but it doesn’t have to be you Petra!” Emily voice raising up
“I know...ah..well..let’s see in another week, I’ll reconsider it” Her face looked conflicted.
“You will ?!?! Thanks Petra ! I’ll wait for your answer anytime!” Emily gripped Petra’s hands suddenly.
“Yes..” At the end she managed to smile.
Just when they finished the talk, couple of people ran across the road outside the buildings. Both of them looked outside the window witness hundreds of people ran in hury leaving the town.
“What happened....?” Petra wondered
EMERGENCY REPORT !!! EMERGENCY REPORT !!!!
PLEASE EVACUATE NOW !!!!!! I REPEAT, PLEASE EVACUATE NOW !!!!!
“What the hell is going on?!” asked Emily
Suddenly the door flung open with the garrison senior with such a grim face
“YOU TWO, PREPARE YOUR GEARS USE YOUR 3D MANEUVER AND COME WITH ME, NOW !”
“YES SIR,!” Both of them saluted and began to prepare their gear in hurry.
“Um..Sir, why should we use the 3D Maneuver gear?” Emily carefully asked
“Didn’t you hear the rambling outside ? Shiganshina has fallen !!” The Man shouted in panic
“WHATTT YOU MEAN BY TITANS SIR ?!?!?!” Both of the girls were surprised as they quicken their preparation getting even more panic.
“Yes! We need to safely evacuate the citizens around the perimeter to make sure people travel north safely.”
“By north, you mean inside wall Rose...?” Petra carefully asked
“If we had to..”
Emily’s hand were shaken so bad. But Petra calmed her down.
“My family....is not far from Shiganshina....Inner walls though...but stil.....no...way...” Her body shivered so bad
“They’ll be okay if they evacuate right away through the river” The man said
“We’ll go there and check on them okay ? I’ll accompany you” Petra gripped her hand
“Sir, please let me go to my hometown !” She pleaded
“Grr....alright, we’ll go check on it later”
“Let’s Go safe some people, Petra.” She smiled at her. It lightens her panic by a bit.
“Come on! Grab your horses!” The man shouted again.

.
.
A small team consist of 6 people with Petra, Emily, and other 4 Garrison seniors: Chad,Derek,Micha, and Captain Hans headed south to Emily’s hometown. Other than Emily, Petra and the rest of the group hometown are inside wall rose so they wouldn’t worry so much, that’s why they were eager to help her. So far, an hour after leaving the chaotic town, no titan be seen yet. Yet the main road was packed with panicking citizens so they had to choose another road.
“Whoa...so many people....Is it really serious?” Chad asked
“Of course it’s serious dumbass..they said a titan crossed the wall...well..i still can’t believe it until I see em myself..” Derek replied
“How can a titan cross the wall? I mean why now after hundreds of year ?” Micha asked
“Shit..what can we do if we see them...I barely practice 3D Manuever anymore...” Chad mumbled
“You idiot, you think only the scouting legion who are made to kill titan? We have to too, the difference is we do it inside the wall..which means in this situation! Recall your trainee practice days now before it’s too late. You can’t be serious to look like a pipsqueak in front of these two trainee ?” The Captain of the group who flung open the door earlier finally spoke in anger.
“I’m sorry captain...” Chad apologized
Both Petra and Emily just looked at their seniors upfront. It looks like they can trust their captain after all and that was a relief.
“Excuse me captain..we’ve been in horse for like an hour, but i barely see other soldiers here.. like only few..where are the others...?” Emily suddenly asked which made the captain’s eyes widen.
“Tch...they were probably too scared and headed north..how useless..” The captain face looked annoyed
“How about the scouting legion, sir ?” Petra asked in louder voice
“Come to think about it...they should have reach shiganshina and fight in the frontlines... but we didn’t know when was the exact time when the wall broke and how long has it been in chaos... oh i just remember...this is bad...”
“What...about...?”
“The scouting legion doesn’t usually start expedition from Shiganshina and their main headquarter is far from shiganshina, far enough that it’s closer to the northeast... I don’t recall they have branch headquarter inside the wall judging from their smaller amounts of member than the garrison...”
“Sir...Are you implying that the scouting legion would come later ?!” Micha assumed
“I think so too.. tch.. they just returned from a brutal expedition yesterday and i don’t think they are capable too.. but still they are better than us... But we really can’t fully relied on their small amount of members..”
“So what should we do sir...?!” Chad was in panic
“Our objective is securing Emily’s hometown first and secure the perimeter, We are absolutely not going inside Shiganshina, not worth the risk”
“Thankyou sir...” Emily thanked the captain
“I heard that you are one of the top ten right? Before you go to inner walls, you got to have some experience here first..”
“Ah...yes I am.. Actually , Petra too.. She is more skillful than I am..” Emily pointed at Petra which made the whole member stared at her
“Ahh really? I bet you both going to be a good military police unlike those bastards now haha”
Petra wanted to object but she decided not too. Besides, facing with a real titan for the first time could determine her decision for joining the scouting legion. She only learned titans from the academy. Fighting with fake titan models, that’s all. They said that real titan are scarier than anything they could imagine. She got herself lost in her thoughts.
It was getting late, but the weather was as calm as usual as if there was nothing bad happening. In contrast to that, the roads were getting even more packed with thousands of people heading north bringing everything they could. Shouting, ramblings, and cries could be heard. Now they see more soldiers that helped the evacuation process but that wasn’t their objective.
“IT’S THE TITANS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” A man shouted from top of his lungs
Everyone stopped their horse seeking for the titan across the horizon. They finally saw it. About 1 Km from their position right then, a titan around 15m was sighted on the wheat field wandering around. Not far from it, another shorter titan was runmaging through some small houses around the field. They could hear some screaming citizens that pleaded for help. Everyone was shocked at the sight. Not long after that, they saw the titan grabbing a person and then ate it mercilessly.
“I DON’T WANT TO DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE----!” it was that person last words before eaten
“What the hell.....so ....that...is...a...Titan.....?...it’s huge....” Chad began to quiver
“Captain...? Should we retreat back...? It’s dangerous the titan already reached here...” Micha retorted
“Emily, how far more from here to your hometown ?!” The captain tensed
“...a...err...about 5 Kilometer again from here... there is another way around from here..” Emily panicked
“But captain !!!” Micha objected
“Listen Soldiers. I won’t change the objective. Right now this young girl’s family is in danger and we have to make sure they are ok, If we were on the same situation as her won’t we need people to help us? Hmm?!” The captain sound more dependable.
“Alright..sir, but we need to go fast then return fast too!” Micha finally convinced
“I know”
Then all of them proceed to Emily’s hometown. Petra couldn’t give any comments at the team’s arguments earlier, she was too conflicted to think what should they do. One thing for sure, she sincerely wanted to help Emily and making sure to get her answer after facing with the titan. The reason for her mother’s death. She wanted to understand it. She wanted to be awaken to the harsh reality that this world she lived in is never been in peace at all. She needed to know.. Her face was tense all the time instead of scared like Emily and the other members. Emily wondered what was going on inside Petra’s mind. It was something she probably couldn’t understand at all.
As they getting closer to Emily’s hometown, more titans sighted, more screams, chaos and blood everywhere. They rode their horse in terror seeking only one objective first. They hated at the fact that they couldn’t help the citizens yet. They managed to hit the town from small roads to dodge from nearby titans. The number wasn’t that many yet, but they were sure that it could be worse by nightfall.
“MOM !!! DAAADDDD !!!!!!!!!” Emily shouted at the now empty town filled with blood scattered around.
“Stop shouting brat! You might attract em !!” Chad reminding her
“Oh right...sorry” She carefully sneaked into her house direction.
So far they had been playing hide and seek with the titans around the town. They didn’t dare to use the maneuver gear only to be spotted by the Titans. Emily entered her house with Petra while the other patrol on the outside.
“Sir.. I think there is barely any people in this small town, either killed or evacuate already.” Said Micha
“Oh shoot look! There is a child crying over there!” Derek pointed fingers at the sight
“shit...she is crying over her parent’s dead body there isn’t she....?” Chad replied
“That place is too open, it’s dangerous, we should help her!” Derek all of sudden ran across the road to the little girl direction
“Oi Derek !” The captain shouted.
The little girl keep crying over her mom’s dead body under the building ruins.
“Hey...you okay...? It’s not safe here, Let me carry you to somewhere else safer..” Derek asked the girl in hurry. They girl stopped her cry for a moment
“....uu...mom....she.....”
“...I know...but I’m sure she wants you to be okay...so let’s get out from here first....”
“..Sir..what..is...a titan...? The town people...keeps..shouting that word....” She was doing her best to talk between her wails.
“It’s a monster that we should not be closed with at all” Derek smiled at the girl
“ah...Is that one on the roof a titan....??” The girl pointed above his head.
Cold shiver ran from his temple as he began to look behind him. A titan crouching above the roof was staring at him as if he was some delicious food. No wonder he didn’t feel any grumbling ground since the titan climb the roof ?! In the matter of seconds, the titan suddenly jumped at their direction hitting all over the build across it.
Derek managed to dodge the fatal hit with the girl on his hug and started to run at his squad, but the Titan didn’t give up that easy as it began to chase after them. Derek carried the little girl running for his life. He cannot use his 3D gear at this state while holding on the child on his arms.
“OIIII DEREKKKK !!!!!!!!! HURRRY !!!!!!! GET INSIDE !!!!!!!” The others were shouting like mad at him attracting the other titans around them.
He was like 20m close to the meeting spot when the titan that chased him suddenly jumped over him and crashed its body right above Derek and that girl. Everyone were silenced.
“c...c...ap...tain.....” Chad called the captain who was just as shocked as the other two.
“....The titans.... they are coming here.....” Micha warned them
Emily and Petra finally ran to the entrance from the 2nd floor
“My family’s not here anymore, My mom purse couldn’t be found, I think they already evacuate them self right on tim-“ Emily stopped her saying when she saw such a gruesome sight in front of her house door. A titan was eating Derek’s and the little girl body at once like it was a delicious meal.
“Oh....that’s good to hear....then...” Micha replied to emily, not removing his gaze from the eating titan infront of them.
“...captain...what should we do...?” Petra whispered at their captain
“...Lets walk first...then lets see their reaction...” The captain made his decision
All of them left the site carefully, seemed like the titan ignore them. But it didn’t mean that they were safe, They remember that it was not only one titan on the abandoned town.
“Shit...shit...shit...captain, they are getting lot coming here...” Micha declared
Another titan noticed them rightaway as if it got some great instict and began to growl as if telling the others to come there.
“Shit..shit...shit !!!! They began to run !!!! Fuck this!! I’M OUT !!!” It was chad who use the 3DM gear to freed himself out from the town
“HEY CHAD WAIT !! tch...Let’s use the gear !!” The captain finally gave his order”
“Yes Sir!”
Ofcourse all them them wanted to escape quickly but without their horses it would be meaningless and they wouldn’t be able to retreat north.
“I’ll chase after Chad and getting the titans attention up front, you both girls ride the horses and bring em all outside the town, Micha will assist you!”
“I..WHAT SIR ?!” Micha objected
“Don’t let the trainee dissapointed, Micha, I trust you” The captain flew away with his gear leaving 3 of them behind.
“You heard the guy...Let’s move out”
“Yes sir..”
For couple meters they thought that they could play kite with the titans and keep em away from the horse, Petra and Emily raised their horse’s speed while Micha flew attracting the titans out of the way, but he realized that they came from everyway and their number increased. One of it suddenly slapped Emily’s horse as she was thrown far from Petra
“EMILY !!!!!!!!!!!” Petra shouted.
“Shit !!” Micha was about to head over to Emily who was knocked out at the sudden impact earlier, But another titan was ready to grip her, Micha tried to cut the titan’s nape from behind but he missed. And he stumbled at the Titan’s slippery skin to the ground. Petra flew by with tremendous speed and sliced the titan’s nape but failed also. But the titan was ready to fall down on Emily’s direction, luckyly, Micha was right on time to saved her as he pushed Emily’s body away, but it cost his body gripped by the titan
“NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!” Micha screamed for his life
Petra screamed on top of her lungs as she watched the titan devoured Micha’s body allover the place while She hold’s Emily on her arms bellow.
She killed one, but it cost another life...it wasn’t enough..So this is a titan...Her skin felt cold all of the sudden, Her body trembled so bad. She didn’t talk much this whole afternoon thinking what could she do when facing the titans. She was sure that she hit the right spot..but why..?...why?? She couldn’t take off her gaze from Micha’s body that were thorn apart. Blood splattered even painted her cheeks. Her legs felt numb, she didn’t have the energy to stand up anymore. More citizens who were left behind got eaten here and there. She wonder when will that thing regocnize their presence

.
“...Petra....? What happened....?” Emily finally awaked
She couldn’t really reply her when she looked down at her friend. She wanted to cry but she couldn’t.
“..I can’t kill them...I’m not as skillfull as you said...I..can’t...!”
While Petra dealing with her shockness, Emily scanned the whole area around them realizing that more titans coming at them. The titan that devoured Micha’s body now finished its meal and now staring at them. It was literaly the closest titan near them now.
“Petra..if you managed to survive, please tell my parents that I’m sorry...” Emily closed her eyes again.
“no.....no..........NOO...!!” Petra screamed as loud as she can while squinting her eyes hard

*CLANG*
The titan’s body suddenly fell down and vaporized right away. She began to open her eyes. The wings of freedom is the first thing she saw on the man’s jacket infront of her before gazing at his face.
“You Okay..?” The raven haired man gently asked her knowing that she was still in shock with her eyes widely opened and almost to cry at any moment however his face remained stoic infront of the girl.
“.....ah.. scouting le..gion...right..?” Petra quickly stood up but her legs failed her, but the man prevent her falling
“Carefull...”His arms around her waist, and their face was just couple of inch away. For a couple of seconds their eyes met for the first time as if time stopped right on that time.
She breathed heavily shoulder went ups and down. The man’s eyes staring at her deeply squinting his eyes then turned his gaze bellow before releasing her to stand up still.
“Is your friend...okay..?” He asked
“Ah...I think she’s not..her bleeding wont’t stop..All horses with the first aid kit ran away...Ah!”
She was about to continued her talking but a group of titan coming on their direction closer now.
“Stay still..” He suddenly stood up a shoot his maneuver gear and began to kill like 5 titans at once then finish killing every titans around them effortlessly before coming back at her. She was left in awe witnessing humanity’s strength against the titans with her own bare eyes. His precise movements and didn’t even missed the neck spot was unbelieveable.
He took off his scarf and began to rolled it around Emily’s head, Petra helped him.
“It’s not safe here, I’ll help you both get out from here, you carry her and I’ll secure the way. My horse also outside the town, didn’t get the chance to bring it here when there were many citizen i need to help here and didn’t realize that it’s far already..” Once he finished he began to stand up followed by Petra with Emily on her back
“Looks heavy, you sure you okay?” He asked her since emily was much taller than her. But he realized that he was just slightly taller than her.
“Ah..I’m fine..Sir...more importanly..Did you see any garrison soldier around the town...?” Petra asked him
“I’m sure the town is empty now..oh..i saw some garrisons bodies thoug-....”
Her body felt weak as if she almost fall, but she stood still with such a terror on her face
“No way...” Her voice cracked
“Sorry..didn’t know those were your friends...Look, you can mourn later about their death and you have to be strong and keep living, only that way is how you appreciate their sacrifices.”
I’ll make sure that you’ll get some protection once we got out the town but after that I can’t really accompany you to go north..”
“...What? You are going south..? Shiganshina ?!?!Alone?!” Her eyes widened
“...yes.....Yes...and ofcourse No, most of the others head straight to Shiganshina”
“Sir...you must be one of the best soldier....” She innocently flattered him which made him a bit nervous at shyness
“errr....maybe.....” He wasn’t sure how to react to that
“Are the scouting legions are all this good like you sir ?”
“well..Mostly...” He began to stepped away a bit
“Did you not regret it..?!” Her voice went higher leaving him shocked.
“Cut the crap, lets move out already!” He shouted at her leaving her in silence.
Couple seconds later tears began to fell out from her face. He panicked at the sight and worried if it was because he shouted at her.
“My bad...” He nervously told her
“No...it’s not about that....” She tried her best to smile on her cries, it was really strange
“What then , we got no time” He squinted his eyes
“.....Thankyou..for saving us....Sir...” She finally opened her warm hazel colored eyes glistening with her own tears and the afternoon suns. Her innocent gently looks somehow captivated him.
“Your welcome...Let’s move” He readied himself to launch his gear checking on their surrounding for more titans

They both went out the town safely with the help of the man she just met that surprisingly came from the scouting legion. Soon Petra and Emily were transported by the garrison evacuation team and headed north to wall rose with the man’s request. She just realize that she hadn’t manage to ask for his name when they already split on their way. Last thing she saw was the Wings of Freedom on his back as she prays that he would be fine at Shiganshina and protect the walls with the other members.

One night on the scouting legion headquarter..
“you are.....!”
They met again on the corridor after a whole week. She smiled widely at the raven haired man
“I hadn’t got the chance to introduce myself before Sir, My name is Petra Ral, I see that you survived Shiganshina...”
“Ah nice to meet you again.....yes..but..It was too late when I got there it was hell...I couldn’t do much..” He hold his banded arms
“.....you got injured too...are you on the way to the infirmary Sir..?”
“Yes.. by the way how is your friend..?”
“Emily? She is good now, and now in the MPs” Her face suddenly changed
“Wait...Petra Ral...oh...I heard you rank 5 on your batch ?”
“...how you know...?”
“Well Commander Shadis always keeps an eye for the top graduate if any one of them don’t choose the MPs, so I guess you are one of them..and that’s ..rare..But that’s great...”
She felt flustered and looked down immidiately
“No I’m not great at all...I couldn’t kill any titan before...i was a coward..!”
“Of course you were.. you were only a trainee that’s why you chose this place, to get stronger am I right?”
“No offense sir, but it’s not just about the power, training, and self actualization...!” She retorted with a hint of angry on her face
“What then...?” He stared at her with such a bored face making her nervous
“Because this world needs to be freed..that’s what my mom told me..She died outside wall maria long ago..seeking that freedom..” He was shocked at her unusual reply and went silent
“er...I’m sorry to shout at you like that Sir...I got carried away...”
“I agree with you.. Looking forward for your improvement soon..” His face changed into somewhat longing, She was strucked by that face he made.
“um..I’ll do my best...thankyou..! er....you should go now...I’m sorry for taking your time..Sir,,” She went nervous all of sudden
He began to walked passed her but stopped suddenly
“It’s Not ‘sir’, It’s Levi..” As he glance at her one more time
She was sure that her face was now bright pink, The wings of freedom on his back is the last thing she saw that night, but now she got the same symbol on her back too, After the tragedies and fought in argument with her father..somehow she felt like she made the right decision

The man who saved her life turns out to be the same man who in years later became her captain
Can you write a fanfic where handsome vampire Levi is trying to seduce Petra.
Hi anon! Sorry for being so late! Hope you enjoy this, though :p
It was at a very young age that Petra grew to hate vampires. She remembers everything that happened on that fateful day so clearly, as if she was relieving it all over again.
How her mother’s terrified screams told her to turn away and run. But her small, five year-old legs were frozen, and so was she. Her eyes were wide as they witnessed the very beautiful creature suck the life out of her mother, as she tried to fight back. Her hand was extended towards Petra, begging her to go away, to at least save herself. But she couldn’t. She couldn’t just leave her mother like that. They shared the same blood, running through their veins. The blood that was now oozing out of Mrs Ral’s neck and onto the delighted vampire’s mouth.
“Petra! Don’t look! Go away! Run!” so many pleads, but none were strong enough to make her snap out of it.
“Petra. Petra! PETRA!"
She gasps as she finally snaps out of it, blinking her eyes to get rid of the horrifying images.
"Were you daydreaming or something?” Auruo huffs, pointing his nose upwards, “Don’t tell me I’ll have to save your ass during the mission.” he tells her smugly, making Petra roll her eyes at him.
She gets up from her seat and picks up her backpack, swinging it over her shoulder.
“Yeah, we saw whose ass needed saving last mission, right?” she bats her eyelashes sweetly, trying not to break into a wide grin at the man’s flusttered expression and the rest of her team’s snickers in the background.
“Y-yah! It wasn’t like th-” Auruo bites his tongue before he can finish his sentence, groaning in pain while clutching his mouth.
Petra rolls her eyes again, going to the small freezer in the corner of the room and getting an ice pack out of it.
“Here,” she says, throwing it in his general direction, “Try not to bleed out until we finish this, m'kay?”
Eld and Gunther can’t take it anymore and burst out laughing, much to Auruo’s dismay.
“She got ya there, didn’t she?” Gunther asks, patting Auruo’s shoulder. The latter rolls his eyes and shrugs his friend’s hand off.
“Shyeah, shyeah.” he mumbles as he finally raises the ice pack to his face.
“Is everyone in position?”
“Yeah,” Petra confirms as she looks around the empty rooftop, her sniper ready to fire. She hears similar answers over the intercom, to which their boss replies with a simple “Good.”
According to their informants, it would still take a while for the reunion to start, but they were willing to wait. They couldn’t bear to lose to them again.
“Hmm, I see…” a voice whispers in her ear, sending shivers up her spine. That did not come from her intercom.
She’s quick to stand up and swing a kick behind her, although to no avail.
“So we meet again,” his smirk is becoming familiar to her. Too familiar. “Maybe you could teach me how to shoot that one of these days. What do you think? It’s a date?”
“What the hell are you doing here, Levi?” she spits in disgust, being careful to switch off her intercom.
“Oh, such a violent welcoming, Petra!” he pretends to be hurt, placing a hand over his nonexistant heart, “What happened to the girl who kept moaning my name and telling me to ‘go faster’?” he tries to mimick her voice, making her blush profusely.
“You damn well know that was an accident!”
“Oh really?” he asks, taking a few steps closer to her again, “'Cause your body told me otherwise.”
“I was drunk.”
She honestly has no idea what she’s doing. She should’ve attacked him already. He’s only a few steps away from her, but she just can’t seem to move.
“We both know you wanted that.” he licks his bottom lip.
“Yeah, you keep telling yourself that. Maybe one day you’ll actually believe it.” she spits out, rolling her eyes. He smirks again, revealing his fangs.
“So, I’m guessing you’re not up for round 2, then?”
He wraps an arm around her waist and pulls her body against his, burying his nose on her neck. Her legs feel weak, and again, why isn’t she fighting back? She hates him, she hates his kind for what they did to her mother. So why isn’t she doing what she was trained to do? Why isn’t she killing him?
He rubs his nose softly against her neck, taking a small sniff, “Aaaah,” he breathes out contentedly, “So good.”
Petra’s hand starts reaching for the small silver knife she has hidden on her pocket, but he grabs it instantly.
“Why, why, Petra, we both know you don’t want to do that.”
“What makes you so sure. I could’ve killed you by now if I wanted.”
“You could’ve tried if you wanted. Which you don’t.” he states, grabbing her chin forcefully and making her look up at him.
Her eyes meet his dark, red ones, and she gulps down nervously. Her stomach twists 180 degrees.
He starts leaning in, and her eyes autimatically slide closed, waiting to feel his lips press forcefully against hers. His kisses were always so hungry, so eager, and she couldn’t help but be completely into them.
“So, I’m guessing you’re drunk today too, right?” he lets go of her waist and she quickly blinks her eyes open, seeing him already standing at the edge of the building.
“What the hell?” she asks frustratedly, her mind completely fogged.
“Oh, I thought you didn’t want this?” he’s clearly mocking her, and she purses her lips.
“Fuck you.”
“If you change that ‘you’ to a ‘me’, I would very gladly do so.”
She turns her back to him and goes back to her sniper, intent on ignoring his presence. It’s quiet for a few moments as she’s crouched down, looking at the city lights shining below her. She almost forgets his presence. Almost.
“You know how to reach me if you’re up for that round 2 I talked to you about.” he whispers in her ear again, startling her a bit. He brushes her hair to the side, kissing her neck softly. A small shiver runs through her spine in what she refuses to acknowledge as pleasure. She feels his teeth grazing against her skin, but he doesn’t bite her.
“See you around.” and with that, she doesn’t need to turn around to know he’s already gone.

Levi returns home after losing his squad to the Female Titan.
Canonverse.
Words: 696
It was the roughest trip home yet. Levi got out of the carriage early, delaying the inevitable for as long as he could. He limped towards his house slowly with his head down, avoiding the stares and greetings of the people who thought him a hero. Hero. Levi thought it a joke.
You could have saved us.
You should have saved us.
If only you had been there earlier…
And among those thoughts echoing in his mind, gratitude that only deepened the regret haunting him. At least she wasn’t there. After all, the title he carried made it that his life was not his own. But in a moment of selfishness, she was the only indulgence he dared seize.
The tightness in his chest only worsened as he got sight of his home, and, as if she could sense his presence, Petra hurriedly opened the door to welcome him back. The excitement soon faded off as worry took its place. Noticing his limp, Petra ran up to him as fast as her condition allowed her to.
“You’re hurt,” she stated before he could get a word out. But he came back to her, and it was all that mattered. Despite being a soldier herself, fully aware of the risks their jobs brought, she could not help the anxiousness that took hold of her each time he was on an expedition. The fear she felt each time someone knocked on her door, expecting only her husband’s cape to return home to her.
“I’ll live,” he replied as he tried to brush it off. I was one of the lucky ones, he wanted to say, but was not ready to.
Petra jumped in his arms to assure herself it was not a dream. As much as Levi tried to convince her of his safety, their recent mission was nothing they had ever encountered. She had spent countless restless nights wondering and worrying about him, waiting for him to return to them.
“I don’t do hugs,” he whispered as he pulled his wife closer, almost knocking the breath out of her lungs. Levi closed his eyes and inhaled her sweet smell, relieved he had finally made it home to her.
“I know you don’t,” she replied as a smile soon replaced the worry on her face. Her husband's stoicism was always something she found endearing. Pulling her face closer to his, Levi kissed the top of her nose, a tiny gesture that Petra knew meant how much he had missed her.
“We missed you,” she said before she put her lips on his, not missing the small smile that soon followed it. Levi rubbed her tummy, noticing it had gotten double since he had been away from her. He wished he could have been there throughout her entire pregnancy, but Petra knew what was required of him.
“You look beautiful,” slipped out of his mouth, leaving him and Petra surprised. He would have never believed Petra could be more beautiful and radiant in his eyes, but she proved him wrong again, as always.
“I can’t wait for her to come,” she sighed before rubbing her lower back. She had heard from the women in the village that the last month would be the hardest, but she was grateful to have Levi by her side through it all.
“She?”
“I just have a feeling,” she replied cheekily. While Levi had stated he just wanted their baby to be healthy, Petra knew he had always dreamed of having a little girl.
As Levi wrapped his arm around her shoulder to lead her back to the house, Petra suddenly stopped as something crossed her mind. In her excitement, she had forgotten to ask.
“Where are the boys? You said you would visit with Eren.”
The smile faded from his lips for a second as grief took hold of him once more. She deserved to know the truth, but not like this. He had failed in protecting them, but he would not do the same with his wife and daughter. The boys would never forgive him for it.
“They can’t wait to see you,” he told her with a slight smile he mustered up.
