Necromancer Specialization: Channeler

“My ancestors will give me strength!”

Combining the ancient magics of Ritualist with modern day Necromancy, Channelers call upon the infinite realms of the mists.  Bindings spirits to Tyria to aid them in battle, or calling upon the raw essence of the Underworld to fuel their devastating shroud abilities. While a Ranger may work in harmony with a spirit they encounter, a Channeler can, and will, be its master.

Unique Ability: Spirit Shroud

Harness ancient magic once lost to time. Binding yourself in place while using your life force as health.

1. Channeled Strike – Blast your target with otherworldy power causing damage and burning.

2. Gaze From Beyond – A piercing ethereal beam damages and blinds enemies in a line.

3. Spirit Siphon – Consume one of your summoned creatures to gain life force and extend your time in the shroud.

4. Ancestor’s Rage – Lash out against your bindings, radiating spectral lightning around you in a wide area.  Enemies hit by the strikes are crippled.

5. Destruction – Forcfully pull yourself from your Shroud, damaging enemies around you.  Deals more damage the longer your were in Shroud.

Utility Abilities: Spirits

Bind a spirit to Tyria with a mystical song. Spirits last for a set amount of time, or until destroyed.

6. Consume Soul [heal] – Destroy your nearest summoned creature to heal.  Creatures destroyed in this way have half the normal cooldown time.

7. Painsong – Bind a Spirit of Pain that damages enemies and causes bleeding with its attacks.

8. Bloodsong – Bind a Spirit of Blood that steals health from enemies with its attack.

9. Shadowsong – Bind a Spirit of Shadows that blinds enemies with its attack.

10. Wandersong [Ultimate] – Bind a Spirit of Wanderlust that knocks down moving enemies with its attack.  Remove boons (swiftness and quickness) from enemies knocked down in this way.

Unique Weapon: Wand (offhand)

Wielding a wand in the offhand grants the Channeler access to even more punishing conditions.

4. Spirit Burn – Engulf your target with Mist energy causing damage and burning.

5. Mistbound Torment – Tether yourself to an enemy, after 3 seconds increase the intensity of conditions on the target if they did not break the tether. (All conditions on the target that stack with intensity gain an additional 3 stacks)

Legendary Weapon: Soul Catcher

Once thought lost, this ancient and powerful wand is said to be able to harvest dreams, and give its wielder Sight Beyond Sight.

Exotic Armor: Channeler’s Chains

Ghostly binds wrapped around the Channeler’s arms serve as a reminder that even after death one may still be called to serve.

Mesmer Elite Specialization: Morpha

“This is MY reality.”

The Morpha are a sect of Mesmers so engrossed in illusions and escapism that they can no longer discern what is real and what is false.  To them reality is just another illusion, a visage so grandiose that none can escape it.  The Morpha fights to bring this falsehood to bare.  Always paranoid by nature, they  keep pistols at the ready in case of danger, and employ mind boggling flourishes to bewilder everyone around them, including themselves.

Unique Ability: Reality Shatter

As someone who fights against the false promises of the world, Morpha are uniquely qualified at taking on entities summoned by their enemies, especially other Mesmers.

F5. Tare into reality itself, shattering your illusions to unleash a massive blast of chaotic magic all around you.  This ability deals more damage per each illusion shattered, and deals 3x that amount of damage to enemy minions, spirits, and illusions. [This ability has much larger cooldown compared to other shatters]

Utility Abilities: Dazzles

Dazzles are the Mesmer equivalent to Corruption.  Each ability bestows a potent benefit to the caster, or devastating drawbacks to the enemy, at the cost of the Mesmer confusing themselves in the process.

6. Illusory Dismissal [Heal] – Confuse yourself and gain a small amount of health.  For the next few seconds damage you take is converted into health.

7. En Garde – Confuse yourself.  Suspend 3 illusionary bullets above you. If you’re already suspending bullets, add 3 to the current total.

8. Allez – Blink forward a set distance. Coulé becomes available for a short time.

-8.5 Coulé – Confuse yourself.  Blink back to your original location and reduce the cooldown of Allez

9. Neuvieme – Confuse yourself. Hurl a pair of illusory daggers at your target. Each dagger that hits converts a boon to confusion.

10. Mass Hysteria – Channel chaotic magic into yourself giving yourself confusion with each pulse. When the channel ends transfer any confusion on you to all nearby enemies.

Unique Weapon: Pistol (Main hand)

Morpha excel at calculated burst damage. Building up the right amount of damage over the course of a fight before unleashing a torrent of pain on their bewildered enemies.

1. Realm Splitter – Fire a shot from your pistol and suspend an illusionary bullet above you. Using a weapon ability other than Realm Splitter will send all suspended bullets at your target.

2. Wanted Man – Fire a homing shot at your target in a wide curve. This attack cannot be blocked, and hitting an enemy will make them unable to block attacks for a brief moment. (1 second after being hit)

3. Illusion of Pain – Unload a barrage of shots from your pistol into your target for massive damage.  If this ability does not down your target they will heal for half of the damage the took.

Legendary Weapon: Pistolefaux

A flint lock pistol with a barrel so comically long that it can’t possibly be real.

Exotic Armor: Morpha’s Eye

A magic eye believed to help Morpha discern what’s real from what’s false.  In reality, having a concentration of raw chaos magic so close to your brain can’t be good for your sanity.
