Idk if anyone’s said anything about this yet but I can’t stand the webtoon I can’t stand the woobified characters (Adaine and Kristen literally being useless in the corn battle pissed me off THEY DID SO MUCH) I can’t stand them main charactering Riz and shoving everyone else to the side esp in battle (why does Riz get to be cool and single-handedly take down the corn while everyone just stands around trying to not die??) I can’t stand all the unnecessary character design changes (Riz just looks humanoid but green they took away Gorgug’s ax they changed Kristen’s whole vibe AND took away her staff I get it’s webtoon but at least stick with the og character clothes???) I get some of the dnd stuff doesn’t translate well but at this point I feel like the writers just didn’t particularly get the point

Tbf I do admit I am being a bit of an annoying adaption person pointing out every little flaw but they feel glaring to me and I hold grudges

HC that in college everything's chill & the bad kids are dealing w/ normal young adult/teen shit & Riz instead of relaxing he kinda goes through what Steven [Steven Universe] went through where due to what went on in the past his brain starts reacting extreme & he develops agoraphobia because while he knows they've defeated SO MUCH & that he's capable his brains in overdrive that everything can be a clue what if he misses something what if he let's something happen cause he didn't realize it was a clue/sign & he can't miss a clue or sign if he doesn't have the chance to see it [& something bad can't happen at home if he's constantly there to protect it]

[Inspired by ME having agoraphobia, though mine manifests & is caused differently, I just HC agoraphobic Riz still][Also if unclear ik Steven didn't have agoraphobia by that I just meant Rizs brain due to the trauma doesn't know how to react to normal stresses & anxiety]

Riz's whole arc with Baron starting from him lying about dating somebody to fit in and then transforming into Baron being a representation of Riz's fear of being left alone and behind, never more important than a hypothetical lover to his friends he's trying his damndest to keep together, working himself to the bone to keep them afloat and prove himself valuable to them because at his core he feels once everyone's found a lover he'll be left in the dust, an intrinsically visceral aro fear, all about not being accepted or not being understood for not wanting or not being able to feel that kind of connection the way everybody else seems to. He lied about dating. He's afraid they'll leave him behind for lovers like he will never have. That he won't compare to a romantic partner in his friends' eyes one day. It's all about the lack of romantic partnership

Some people with zero media literacy: He's not aro because Brennan actually said he's ace, so nothing's confirmed! He's just ace. His arc is about being ace actually because Brennan said so. Brennan said he doesn't have a romantic partner because he's ace. There's no way this is a thing about people always confusing the term aro for ace. Nope. He's just canonically not aro. Just ace

he’s actually quite tall for a goblin! idk exact numbers but Pok is described as very like. suave super spy so he gets to be tall.

he’s wearing human dress pants here and would theoretically have a matching human jacket with the sleeves rolled up too. he does have nice dress clothes tailored to fit a gobin that he got after freshman year, but no way in HELL is he getting them ruined on spring break.

the tattoos are incredibly detailed, full conspiracy board on one arm, newspaper clipping-loking things on the other, ‘NIGHT YORB’ on his chest, just straight up a list of people’s names on his ribs, a big full piece of the crown on his back. the two lines on the back of his hand are ‘POK GUKGAK’ and ‘SHADOW CAT’

his glasses are the kind that you get in like. play spy kits where there are mirrors in the corners so you can see behind you. this will have no concequinces of the Baron variety surely.

One thing that I hope will come up in Junior Year is the other bad kids’ extended families.

Like I know we learned about Gorgug’s and Fabian’s in Sophmore Year but what about the others?

Does Fig have archdevil relatives??? What about relatives on Sandra Lynn’s side?? Does Kristen have a super cool aunt who is totally rad and accepting???? Does Riz have a grandma with the wildest lore?????

Does Gilear have siblings?!?!?!
