Idk if anyone’s said anything about this yet but I can’t stand the webtoon I can’t stand the woobified characters (Adaine and Kristen literally being useless in the corn battle pissed me off THEY DID SO MUCH) I can’t stand them main charactering Riz and shoving everyone else to the side esp in battle (why does Riz get to be cool and single-handedly take down the corn while everyone just stands around trying to not die??) I can’t stand all the unnecessary character design changes (Riz just looks humanoid but green they took away Gorgug’s ax they changed Kristen’s whole vibe AND took away her staff I get it’s webtoon but at least stick with the og character clothes???) I get some of the dnd stuff doesn’t translate well but at this point I feel like the writers just didn’t particularly get the point
Tbf I do admit I am being a bit of an annoying adaption person pointing out every little flaw but they feel glaring to me and I hold grudges

The Zac Oyama Thinking Face is the paragon of thinking faces. So contemplative while surrounded by flame and ruin. I feel like my life would really turn around if I could think like that.
Riz was genuinely my least favorite character of fantasy high (I didn’t like hate him or anything I was just way more invested in the others specifically gorgug) UNTIL I was listening to Discord by the living tombstones and had like a prophetic vision of doing a 2020-style cosplay TikTok in sophomore year-era riz/baron cosplay to that song and then I just. Couldn’t get him out of my head.
He’s my favorite now. Blorbo Against My Will I guess.

I get that fantasy high is a show run off of improv (they constantly will just have silly and random things happen all the time because its funny) but I earnestly have grown to hate Mary Ann/Gorgug. I know that Zac is doing his funny bit and it is funny but I just think it comes out of nowhere. For most dumb bits, it's fine to have something come out of nowhere, who gives a shit if Fabian suddenly has a dumb neck tattoo or Kristen keeps on having wild sex with her girlfriend all of that stuff is fully in character too so no harm no foul, but having one of your main characters get into a serious relationship kinda feels like something you can't just have happen for no reason.
Gorgug fucking hated Mary Ann for 99% of the season. Just thinking about her made him fly into rages and he fully fucking broke a bench by just thinking about her. In the time quangle, when he found out there was a timeline where she replaced him, he was deeply, deeply upset beyond how he normally would be, probably because it was her specifically. He was an asshole to her, he actively tried to get his friends to make fun of her because of how much he hated her. Granted, he was just acting like that because she embarrassed him at the thing he's supposed to be good at but its clear that the upset feelings are very real. Now why the fuck would he suddenly just be like "I actually want to fuck her"? Because she's suddenly not bad? She never even acted that bad, she's legit just living her life and doing nothing notable every scene she's in.
There's just no implication before the bench scene that either of them like each other, Mary Ann doesn't even seem to care about him until that scene. It's just so out of left field and I don't get people who ship it, it's not even like there's an interesting dynamic here to explore, the whole bit with Mary Ann is that she's shallow and there's nothing deeper. Sincerely, I mean this as an earnest question, what changes for either Mary Ann or Gorgug if they start dating?
If there's a season 4, I sincerely hope they just say that Mary Ann and Gorgug fucked that one time and haven't seen each other since because that's the only reality that makes sense with the characters Zac and Brennan played for most of the season

Somebody mentioned this in a confession already but i did not care for most of the canon pairings in Fantasy high. Like Gorgug and Zelda were ok, I dont give a shit about Mary Ann and Kristen and Tracker never really stuck out to me. Fig/Ayda & Fabian/Mazey are fine to me and ive enjoyed those but the others never really caught on for me.
I understand how tracker was important to Kristen development wise but i never cared for their relationship as a whole. And it never made sense to me why Gorgug got with Mary Ann at the end.

I actually really hoped that in the end of FHJY, it would be Lucy Frostblade, that Gorgug gets closer to, out of the Rat Grinders because of how much they have in common. They're both the gentle giants in their groups, both known to have an air of sadness (tho for Gorgug it's mostly in freshman year), both have been brought back from the dead (both were the first to die in their parties too), both been very targeted by Porter (especially being pushed to choose destructive rage and then both of them refusing to, no matter what). Not necessarily shipping them romantically, but I would've loved for them to be friends.

In Gorgug’s defense, he directly asks seven people if they’re his dad and only gets a clear no four times. I think any of us would ask a lot with that ratio.
Note:
This does not include times he has assumed someone is his dad without asking, thought someone was a different person’s dad, or considered that he was his own dad.
