I’ve been rewatching “13 Reasons Why” from the beginning of season 2 during the last couple of days and have started to remember how many difficulties all the characters have gone through. When it comes to Justin, seeing his efforts to get a better life and will to live makes his fate even more heartbreaking.  In addition, knowing what we know after season 4 finale - even if it is hard to admit - there were hints earlier on that he might die later on the series (I still don’t accept his death, though, and I don’t think I ever will. He deserved so much better).

It is embarrassing to admit, but I had completely forgotten the scene where Alex saves Justin. So now it makes more sense to me why he had such hard time while talking at his funeral. I’m still 100% certain that Clay did not suffer only from anxiety and depression, but also either schizophrenia or dissociative disorder or both, or something else close to it (I would like to hear your thoughts about this as well). But I’m glad that he was shown to be on the road to the recovery (it would have been really unrealistic if he had been fully okay with it all and his issues in the series finale). Even if all the stuff about Alex searching and finding himself and getting together with Charlie is amazing, I also love the build up of Tony’s and Caleb’s relationship during the series and find them really underrated. I also hope we would have seen more scenes between Clay and Tony after first season.

Every actor and actress had their scene/scenes where they got their time to shine on the earlier seasons as well, but season 4 was all in all the best when it comes to acting - at least in my opinion. And there’s no denying that even though there were many dislikable features in Bryce and Monty and neither of them deserved the full redemption, Justin Prentice and Timothy Granaderos did amazing job with their characters. I’m glad that they were part of this last season.  I’m also happy that we got to see Brandon Larracuente, Michele Selene Ang, Tommy Dorfman and Katherine Langford, too, even if only for a short time. I would have also loved to see Aijona Alexus as Sheri and Socie Bacon as Skye once more, though.
