So this happened...

I’m thinking arson. If it’s stupidity, I’ll be fine with that too. But if someone left something causing the fire would be too simple, and that person would likely suffer severe consequences and personal chastigation, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. No one wants to go down in history as the asshat who left a hot iron or torch on a historical combustible cathedral and lit a fire of epic proportions.

Seriously.

So I kinda hope it was arson. Sorry to say it, but it’s true. At least with that, there’s easy closure.

I get that if it was accidental, that person would be forgiven and just as quick to closure. However, the personal conflict and should that person’s name get out, it’d destroy a person. With an arsonist, one can still forgive but at least that person wouldn’t be driven to self-destruction through condemnation over history.

Still, shit happens. Nothing lasts forever. It’s just a building. Get the fuck over it and move on, rebuild if possible, and c'est la vie.

Social networks are leveraging LLM to purge their networks of deviants and weirdos. The metaverse is merging with the real world. It's sad, but it's only to be expected. Yet they still allow AI slop to clutter up their feeds.

How are we supposed to make a better world when the refuge of the weird becomes the domain of the normal? Where are we supposed to go?

I worry - they say they are doing this to protect the kids - but what damage are you doing to the kids who don't fit in anywhere? What corner of the internet are they forced into, and what are they going to find there?

Honestly, the more they protect the world - the less it is worth protecting.
