roydonna (plus kiddos) for 20 of the April prompts please!!!
Roy put a slice of pound cake on a plate, then next to it he placed a spoonful of sweet syrup-covered strawberries. He carried it from the counter to the island in the midst of the kitchen, then slid it in front of his daughter.
With a fork in hand, Lian looked at the plate with a curious eye as her father stepped behind her.
"Alright, Kiddo. Now what you're supposed to do is get a little bit of strawberries, a little bit of cake, a little bit of cream, then you eat it all in one bite."
Lian nodded, then proceeded to poke at the food like it was a lunch for aliens. "Where's the cream?" she asked aptly.
Roy smirked, then glanced to the other side of the island. Sitting at the corner was little Robbie; in front of him was a big metal bowl of heavy cream and in his hand was a wire whisk, working by hand he moved the whisk back and forth as quickly as he could; which frankly, was not that quick.
Judging by the determined look in his eyes, he was dead set on prepping a bowl of whipped cream no matter what.
Donna stood behind her son, watching him go with an amused smile on her face. It was strange to see Robbie holding the whisk and not pretending that it was a magic wand or a sword.
She looked to Roy and said, "We're working on it."
Roy let out a chuckle. It seemed that Robbie only wanted the finest cream to go along with the archer's pound cake. Walking over, Roy leaned over the little boy's shoulder and peeped down into the bowl. Judging by the lack of peaks in the liquid, they would be getting whipped cream some time in the next century.
"You want a hand with that, buddy?" asked Roy.
Robbie said nothing and simply continued his whisking.
"Let him have his fun, Roy," said the Amazon. She walked towards the fridge. "I think we have a can somewhere in here."
