Le Fantôme de l'Opéra - Robert Marien et Bridgette Marchand
Robert Marien as Dom Claude Frollo from the "Notre Dame de Paris" world tour.
Revisiting the Les Misérables Paris Revival album to get my brain in the rhythm of French singing again, and I just have to say: Robert Marien is a revelation. If this had been my first LM, it wouldn't have taken me half so long to give Valjean the attention he deserves.
Also here’s the funny thing. I’m almost 100% sure that Frollo I saw yesterday changed “de voir voller ton jupon” line to “de voir tomber ton jupon”. I find it hilarious.
“Vous, à la barricade, écoutez-moi ! Le peuple de Paris dort dans son lit. Vous n’avez plus la moindre chance. Alors, sauvez vos vies !”
Random moments from the Paris production of Les Misérables, Théâtre Mogador,1991.
