Are we still in Robron Affair Era 2.0? In terms of definitions, I mean. I saw a post mentioning Robron Affair Era 3.0, but I don’t think that can be right.

Robert and Aaron both still have the same legal spouses they had in August when they slept together. I know it’s October now and Aaron and John are unofficially separated (on account of John being on the lam for trying to kill Aaron, among other people). But Aaron and John are not divorced (yet), and neither are Robert or Kev.

It’s just that Aaron thinks of both himself and Robert as free agents now. Robert has failed to mention Kev, which I suspect will get operatically messy. I know Kev is supposed to be terminally ill. Is Robert hoping to keep Kev quiet until he dies of natural causes and just never bring it up? If so, that’s one of the more harebrained plans from Scheming Sugden.

Aaron feels no more guilt or loyalty over John, so he clearly no longer views a relationship with Robert as adulterous. Drugging someone, torturing their best friend in a bunker, and then throwing them off a gorge does a lot of damage to the average marriage. Who knew! But anyway, it is still technically an affair, since they are both still married to other people. Technically.

So I think it’s still Affair Era 2.0, rather than Affair Era 3.0.

When the journos teased a certain scene would be one their best, they weren’t kidding. Robert’s breakdown scene (well, the episode in general) was superb. And another I would put up there is the scrapyard scene.
