My yarn and wool scraps bag is finally too full to fit anything else. So, time to turn it back into spinnable fibers.

It's a mix of handspun yarn ends, millspun yarn ends, rabbit fur (in this case from cutting a rabbit pelt), bits of wool, and other such things.

I'm gonna see how many rolags I can get out of all this. Also want to see the best (both in terms of ease and in terms of result) way to process yarn ends to make it be spinnable again. Will report back later.

At Christmas, a friend gave me their old wool sweater that needed some mending. I went to look for some matching Shetland wool and instead found some little hanks of roving. I picked up some colors I felt matched the original, as well as two dollar store dog brushes, and have been making little rolags all evening. I think I’m narrowing in on the color!

From fluff to batt! My first time working with Angora rabbit fiber, and it is so exceptionally soft! I can’t wait to run this batt through the drum carder a couple more times and pull some sweet sweet rolags. Still prepping for the upcoming Tour de Fleece!

My spinning adventures for this evening! I don’t get the opportunity to spin very comfortably. My dad doesn’t really 🤔 support the fibre efforts. “It’s too messy” is one of his favourite reasons. It’s messy, but it’s keeping me entertained and seeing the spindle slowly filling is more satisfying than art has been the last few weeks.

Tomorrow, I do homework and lectures, and spin some more in the evening. Now to knit a little bit before bed I think.
