Dashimaki tamago & Beef shigureni (<3)
omg crab, the linc, kuala lumpur.
we tried soy marinated crab, ganjang gejang 간장게장 a few weeks back at my friends place, because we are all curious about the taste and experience. this is a traditional korean dish, and this store is selling them frozen so it’s convenient to buy and eat at home. we also bought soy marinated salmon to try, together with rolled eggs, salad and vegetables my friend cooked.
we were pretty excited to eat, forgotten to remove the soy sauce and serving them on a plate. but regardless, it wasn’t super salty as i thought it would be. it is salty, for the flavor but it goes well with rice, kimchi and seaweed. i also enjoyed eating it just like that however, the texture is quite slimy since this is raw.
salmon does become slimy after being marinated like that as well, i would prefer to enjoy just raw salmon instead. this dish does need a lot of rice to go with it because of its strong flavors or soy sauce and chili. kimchi and seaweed is a really nice touch as well.
if you are not used to eating raw food, it’s best to have other dishes around, because it could get overwhelming if you only ate the marinated crabs by themselves since the texture is something that not everyone would get used to. overall a good experience, definitely an interesting one to be able to enjoy this meal with my friends, at the comfort of our own place.
