He might not reply to you
But Memnon said to Selene
“My queen, since I woke, I have desperately dreamed you might say such a thing. That you might feel a shadow of what I feel for you. But you need not to worry I’d sooner burn every last remnant of Fortuna’s dynasty then let something come between us. You’ll never lose me. I swear it to you. “
Don’t settle for less…
Lately I've been reading fabulous series and just wanted to share my joy!
The only two series in the post that I've actually finished are Destiny by Beverly Jenkins and Cowboys of California by Rebekah Weatherspoon and both are magnificent 💜
I started The Brothers Sinister by Courtney Milan and The Cider Bar Sisters by Jackie Lau last year, but I've been taking my time reading them because of how good they are 💙
And this year, thanks to bookstagram, I discovered new to me authors like Daisy Jane and so far, I've loved the books I've read by them 🧡
I'm currently reading The Brazen One
The post is in no particular order, I love and recommend all of them

Title: Love and Other Words Author: Christina Lauren Publisher: Gallery Books Published in: 2018 Pages: 432 Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
I'm having troubles writing this review because of my conflicted feelings. I liked this book but at the same time.........I didn't? I know, here comes Rita with another unpopular opinion lmao Love and Other Words is the story of Macy and Elliot, who meet when they were 13 years old, after her father decides to buy a weekend cabin beside Elliot's home. That launched them into a friendship, which then evolved into a innocent "weekend" relationship for 5 years. Until they fell apart. Now it's 11 years later and Elliot and Macy have had no contact since that last day....till they randomly see each other in a coffee shop. This opens new wounds and makes old wounds resurface. And in this story, we get to learn all that happened. Past and present history. I had a few problems with this novel. The first being how it's written. Not the writing itself but the chapters alternating between timelines - one chapter in the past, the "then", and one chapter in the present, the "now". I don't like this type of books at all. Every time a book follows this format, I end up not loving it and skim-reading one of timelines because I want to read the one I like the most. I also always feel like it's hard to connect with the characters because we change settings so fast and, even though, they're the same characters in both timelines, people change and who they were before is not who they are now; at least not entirely. But in this case, I understand why having interspersed chapters was a requirement. It allowed the reader to meet these two when they were teenagers, to watch as their friendship grew and blossomed into something else and, ultimately, the reason why they stop speaking. Speaking of characters, I loved Elliot; I often say I don't have a type but if I had a type, he would be the epitome of it.....I really enjoyed his character. On the other hand, I wasn't a fan of Macy's character. I didn't feel connected. I, honestly, couldn't tell you a single thing about her personality or her life other than she is a nurse and that revelation at the end of the book. In terms of romance, these two were kind of forgettable and annoying at times. Don't come at me. Still, I appreciated it enough to give it 3 stars. I, especially, liked the ending. Those last 50 or so pages were when I found myself unable to put this book down. Finally discovering the big reason why they fell apart 11 years ago brought tears to my eyes, I'm not going to lie. And the last 2 sentences...ahhh there go my heartstrings being played with again. I love first sentences and last sentences in books. They carry some weight and Christina Lauren used that last sentence to drop the mic on us and end this novel with a memorable last phrase. One thing that surprised me was that this was very tame. As in, compared to their other books, this doesn't have that many sex scenes and when they happened, it was faded to black. If you don't like reading the steamy scenes in novels but want to read a Christina Lauren book, I'd say this is a good option to start with. All that being said, I was a bit disappointed that I didn't love this as much as everyone else. I'm a 3 in a sea of 5 stars......again.
