Rosemary Dubosque (Labelle)
Rosemary was the mother of Amaryllis and 4 younger children. Before Amaryllis, her eldest child was born, she would attend to Xerneas’ shrine alongside her siblings. The Labelle family line carried the power of aura, and highly respected Xerneas. Rosemary’s father taught her and her siblings how to use their aura properly. She was able to master it by age 16. It was at that time her father bestowed the gift of a pokemon egg to her, that would later hatch into a Ralts.
Rosemary had always wanted to be a mother, of course, and when Amaryllis was born, she was keen on teaching the girl how to harness her aura for good. Rosemary described Amaryllis as “having a strong aura” upon her birth.
Over the next several years, Rosemary would have four more children. 3 boys, and another girl. She juggled her duties of motherhood, along with teaching Amaryllis how to sense aura from far away. She’d often take her children with her to Xerneas shrine, teaching them the importance of maintaining it.
When the threat of a war loomed overhead, Rosemary was understandably worried for her daughter. She was young, but she knew she’d have to go to the battlefield and aid the injured with her healing. She sent Amaryllis off with her trusted Gardevoir, Iris.
During the time of the war, Rosemary would send off care packages to Amaryllis. Most contained fresh loaves of bread, books, or treats for her pokemon. Rosemary often got letters from Amaryllis, detailing her woes and triumphs during the Kalosian War.
3 years in, however, the letters abruptly stopped. Rosemary became worried, desperately trying to sense Amaryllis’ aura throughout Kalos. She thought she had found her near Santalune Forest, though Xerneas’ presence overwhelemed what she felt.
On the day she was planning to set out for Santalune Forest, a massive, crystalline structure rose from the ground, firing a long blast of light into the atmosphere. This blast ultimately killed Rosemary, two of her sons, and her younger daughter.
