Why not both? Those are my two absolute favourite characters in the series, I’ll be honest. Well, they’re about equal with Bickslow and Evergreen, the four are a collective favourite.
Why I like them - He’s awesome. Highly powerful, a good leader, a good head on his shoulders, and you can tell he cares deeply about his guild members. He’s just a great guy in general to be fair
Why I don’t - When he’s reduced to a childish fanboy for the sake of comedy. I can accept that may be a facet of his personality, where he can’t help but gush now and then, but it’s a problem when he gets incorrectly portrayed as primarily this and given a lot less respect by certain fans as a result.
Favorite episode (scene if movie) - Lightning Man for the four of them as a whole, and that episode where he goes on a mission with Wendy as well.
Favorite season/movie - I’ll go for a story arc here and say...maaaaybe Tenrou Island? Maybe the Battle of Fairy Tail.
Favorite line - I don’t remember any specific lines tbh.
Favorite outfit - The usual one.
Brotp - Bickslow and Ever ofc. A little bit various other members of the guild too.
Head Canon - Okay, so, I have a slight backstory headcanon for him, because he has quite a noble air to him with the way he looks and the way he stands and his tone of voice, I ended up with a lil headcanon background of him being the son of some noble or another and a lower class person they had an affair with. He is a blot on the upper class fam’s otherwise flawless reputation. Though really they should blame his whore of a father.
Unpopular opinion - The fandom horribly misrepresents him on a regular basis.
A wish - He gets the goddamn respect he deserves from us.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen - Being flanderised so his only real character trait is that he’s gay for Laxus.
