Hit the local river Saturday with my fishing buddy and it was a great time! Took my Scott Flex 7'7" 2wt and it was so much fun catching these smaller fish. Caught rainbow, cutbow, and cutthroat trout. I also got my hand before I had a chance to pinch the barb and it got me good. Had to push it through, and it made an amazingly loud pop when it went through, pinched the barb and pushed it back through. I have a Skaget shooting head with nylon line on this Ross Evolution and while I can cast easily with it (although a basket is 100% needed as the nylon sinks), the retrieve sucks for me. The abrupt changes in line materials and diameters and all the knots hitting the guides make for a frustrating time on the water for me. I will be swapping it out for something more traditional. Most epic catch! I set the hook and it starts barely moving. So I set again to make sure and I feel some head shakes. Although something is NOT right! Just moving around way to slowly! Then I finally get it in and I pull up this rope!
