❄️It's Winterfest Eve!!❄️

Since we have lots of new folks participating this year, where's what will happen:

At midnight EST, we will reveal the submissions, but they will remain anonymous or 24 more hours. During this time, we can enjoy our gifts, but please refrain from posting what you created elsewhere (tumblr, insta, etc) until the 24 hours has passed. We will then reveal who created your gifts and at that time you can post outside of AO3. Excited to see what we've all created!

Let us know if you have any other questions about submitting and if you think you need more time so we can make sure your recipient is aware that it's coming!

Let the new Springfest season begin!

Sign-up Form

This year, artists will write a description of fanart they wish to illustrate that would serve also as a writing prompt. Describe the scene and/or characters you want to include knowing it will potentially be one moment within a story.

After sign-ups, writers will be given a link to choose from a list of anonymous pitches that artists supplied. There will be more detailed instructions in the form.

Writers and artists will be paired together based on pitch selection. We will do our best to match you up with your first choices! Discuss your project plan together and make sure you align on the vision.

Writers Pick Prompts: 2 - 8 March

Matches sent/Begin working!: 14 March

1st check-in: April 12th

2nd Check-in (to assess if pinch hitters are needed): May 3rd

The next seasonal fandom event is Harvest Fest! Please respond/like/share to show you are interested.

DETAILS: This will be a collaboration event like Springfest, but flipped! This time, Artists will pitch their ideas and Writers will choose which ones they'd like to work on. You will be paired up to work on a collaborative project based on this choice. THEME: Autum/Fall, harvest celebrations, scary/spooky ambiance, creatures and costumes! Horror elements welcome as long as they are appropriately tagged.

DATES:

Sign-ups would begin soon on September 15th.

Matches will be sent out September 22nd.

Event will begin September 29th and end on November 7th with check-ins running throughout.

However, I want to know what you’d prefer to do!

I post a new one-word prompt every other week! You (yes, you!) submit microfics and other art inspired by the prompt!

This post contains lots of helpful info, please fully read it!

🦌 Guidelines 🐉

All submissions must feature characters, settings, or other aspects from the Realm of the Elderlings (crossovers, AUs are accepted)

Microfic, drabble, flash fic? The recommended word count is 100-200, but it's a recommendation only. Write 50, write 1000! As long as it addresses the prompt, it counts!

Does the prompt inspire you to create other forms of art? Love it! Art, moodboards, poems, videos, songs, web weavings, and other creative works are wonderful!

AI is not accepted

Ready to submit?? Post it to your own blog and include the prompt, creative work, and word count (if applicable). You must tag @rote-microfic!

Tag your spoilers! Sixteen is a lot of books, and folks should be able to read rote microfic regardless of where they’re at. By trilogy or by book, tag them!

Been awhile since the prompt was posted? Submit your creation anyway! The prompts have no deadline

Submissions will be reblogged via queue to keep them from getting buried. Feel free to ping me if it's been a couple days!
