With my pocket dungeons now available locally AND in digital form on itch, I wanted to talk a bit about them!
My three pocket dungeons are story heavy, system-agnostic ttrpg modules with themes of haunted places, community struggles, people being changed without their knowledge, ghosts, soul-eating abyssal creatures, crystal growth you weren't asking for, and minimal combat.
I've run each as a one-shot, and I've run each as a mini-campaign. They work well across several genres, but you'll need there to be some element of the supernatural in your worldbuilding for these to fit in nicely, with possible dimensional portals, pelurskite kings, and undead goddesses.
Speaking of tone, these are all unsettling, but they do hit different!
Keep on the Shining Isle is capital-"w" Weird.
The Corruption of Pelursk is old-school folk horror, very dark.
The Ghost Houses of Phylinecra is more about grief than horror, but in that big, overwhelming, life-destroying way.
Also, they all come with maps! Keep's map is fairly simple; Pelursk is a full on haunted hex crawl; and Ghost Houses has two maps that need to be managed at the same time.
So, let me pitch you my adventures:
Keep on the Shining Isle takes your players to an island that changes its visitors, whether they want it to or not. They will have to explore the depths of the Keep to find out what happened to the long lost locals -- but wait, don't those apples look delicious?
The Corruption of Pelursk takes your party to an isolated town that hasn't reckoned with its own dark secrets, and an island that will haunt them with everything it has. If they survive to see the dark heart at the center of things, they will have to decide: share the truth with all, or let it rot.
The Ghost Houses of Phylinecra brings you to a town desperately rebuilding after disaster - but its residents now find themselves encased in crystalline effigies of their lost homes. To free the survivors, your players must seek the Goddess beneath the Blessed Isle, where all is not as it seems.
And that's my pocket dungeons! Three haunted, haunting adventures for the season of ghost stories and gathering in the dark.
They are available as a bundle on my itch, and each dungeon also has free community copies available, if needed.
