10 Reasons To Say "Thank You Running"
Every day is a good day to be thankful. Every day can be a good day for a run. Today I’m sharing 10 reasons that I want to say “Thank You Running”. Are any of these the same as your top 10? Thank you running for… Introducing me to new friends. From my early days with Team In Training to all the races, run groups, and met-on-the-course connections, running has been an amazing community builder…

So today I did a little tempo workout, just a bit over 4 miles. I ran a little over one mile as a warmup, around 2 miles where I ran at a decent/fast-ish pace, and a 1 mile cool down. It was a decent workout, but I finished the workout knowing that I could have gave the workout more effort. The two miles where I picked up the pace were mediocre...of course I felt a bit tired, but I know I could have pushed myself much more. Well, I ran the 4.16 mile workout in 36 minutes, leaving me at 8:39 pace. Pretty decent, because I did not feel like I was pushing myself at all. I would have liked to run the workout at 7:40/7:50 pace, which would be in 32 or 33 minutes. Knowing that I'm only 3 or 4 minutes off my goal is really comforting, I feel like I'm just that much closer to running the times I want. :)
After the workout I did a 30 minute, much needed, core workout. I couldn't even get halfway through the workout without stopping, which was a little embarrassing. It just goes to show how out of shape I am. Well, I have the whole summer to work on my core, so when xc season comes I'll be in good shape :)
Rhode Runner - Kinvara 4 Review
Visited Rhode Runner's and picked up my Saucony Kinvara 4's! Woot woot
First Glance: Colors offered are super adorbz. I was given the white and peachy color.
Feeling: Lightweight, flexible, and comfortable.
Measurement:
~7 ounces
-4mm heel-toe drop
-New “PowerGrid” sole
-Thin, lightweight upper made from “FlexFilm” material.
Kinvara 4 is a “performance neutral” running shoe which means that it’s sold to guys & gals who fit a particular profile: efficient runners who are light, favor faster running, and are able to train in a minimalist running shoe.
In Action: The shoe felt great for the first mile. I noticed the arch of the shoe seemed a little far from my natural arch, but nothing too extreme. Off to the races! I'm a heel to mid-foot striker who can at times have a heavy foot and I'm a supinator (heel rolls outward). I ran 4 easy miles on day one. No major complaints. Woo success! I think I spoke too soon... fast forward to day 3 (8 miles so far)-- I started getting terrible cramps on the arch of my foot. MAJOR red flag. I rest for 3 days and felt great running the next few weeks. I never passed 3 miles until one morning during a quick run on the MACHINE OF DOOM (aka the treadmill) I started getting terrible pain under the arch of my foot. I went back into Rhode Runner and they advised me to try the NewBalance 980 Foam (will be reviewing those shortly!).
Durability:
A big problem with the Kinvara 4 upper is the anticipated durability problems. The upper is made from a plasticy synthetic mesh the just screams “tear me!”... and well it did after 3 weeks of about 20 miles a week. In perusing the reviews on Amazon (since I haven’t run in them more than 60 miles myself) it appears a number of people have complained about forefoot tearing as well. Le sigh....
OVERALL: This shoe has tremendous potential but has failed to deliver the much anticipated improvement from Kinvara 3. I advise you try the Kinvara 4's-- it might just might be for you! In my opinion the Kinvara 3's are still the reigning champs in the Kinvara family for durability.
RATING: 3 POWERKIMMY'S out of 5.
Average Price: $65

Okay so I just gotta put it out there that running really makes you feel good and I think everyone should exercise. I do not think everyone has to eat healthily, although it does make physical activity easier and more comfortable. And that's Perrin's opinion guys
