get out and run
I'm giving y'all important lessons so shut up and listen.
Metallica is CROSS COUNTRY music. If you gotta Metallica song stuck in your head while running, GREAT. A lotta their songs have parts that work awesome for trying to cling to something other than your shortness of breath and the agony in your legs and pacing (ex: Creeping Death, Sad But True, that one part in One).
Megadeth is BASKETBALL music. This one I can't explain as well but listen and if you play you'll just get it. Also, I'm trying to take everyone's balls during games so great messaging.
Van Halen is celebratory music after a real tiring round of either of these. I don't need to elaborate.
my last xc season starts next week. i’m trying to do 200 miles during the summer (i will probably post updates) and i want to break the 20min 5k barrier.
i also realized recently that i think i want to coach xc someday. i truly love the sport, and i love getting to help others fall in love with it as well.
anyways. just rambling. but there’s the life update!
I know this isn’t what the first anon was asking for but I cannot recommend the C25K app (or something similar!) enough for new runners! it’s good for slowly building up endurance and also getting over the idea that walking during a run doesn’t make you a “real runner” or whatever. start slow, it’s okay to be slow!
ayo thanks!!!! we love to see an app
What do you do on your rest day when you don’t have any internet?
Make bracelets with some of your favorite running mantras of course!
Well actually I spent most of the morning separating the beads because they all came in one bag and look the same until you take them into the sun.
But it was a nice excuse to sit on my porch all morning and now I have these cool bracelets to look at when I am running to remind myself to keep going!
I have to say though I am really excited about these beads, they change color in the sun and glow reaaaally bright in the dark!
I can’t wait to use them for the GAP Trail Relay annnnnd if you haven’t donated yet you haven’t missed your chance!
