RWBY Semblance tier list, part 3: others

Well, time to finish this list. Previous two parts:

I'll rank Semblances from D to S tier. S-tier Semblances are typically the most overpowered and versatile in multiple ways. As we go lower, Semblances will usually lack one or the other criterion, or don't have oompf factor. B tier will have mostly simple but good Semblances, C more situational ones, and D the ones that are barely abilities.

Assumptions will be made from the standpoint that the theoretical user is relatively average, because some average Semblances are carried by their user being a strong fighter, and vice versa.

With that out of the way, let's continue.

KINDRED LINK:

Rare case of good Semblance being nerfed by a strong user. Is there a worse candidate for this Semblance than the bum who doesn't socialize and leaves all their loved ones behind?

As for its utility; teleportation assuming there is a person you are connected with, works both ways, can attack and see through it. Excellent in some situations, could even be theoretically used in combat.

I'd say A-tier Semblance as long as you are touching grass and socializing.

VIA SUN:

Clone Semblance, more offensively focused compared to the Shadow. Still nothing too crazy and Sun struggles to maintain clones for extended periods of time. So B-tier.

WATER ATTRACTION:

Weird awkward younger brother of other elemental Semblances. Now, it's primarily held back by its user, but even then, I doubt its full potential is that crazy.

The issue is that unlike Scorching Caress and Polarity, this Semblance can't produce the element it controls, or is that prevalent on the battlefield.

If you can stock up on water Dust or you are fighting near water, you can pull off a water bubble or two to disable the enemy.

Meh, it's water, so it can't be that bad, B-tier.

GLIDE:

Bootleg mobility. Fall damage protection is almost completely irrelevant considering RWBY characters can be yeeted off the cliff and take no damage with just Aura. Am I missing something? D-tier.

HYPE:

It's another one of those "power, but conditional" Semblances. You get more powerful, but only if you use Dust attacks. Meh, C-tier.

TELEPATHY:

Kinda wish this was a bit more than a private Discord room that drains your Aura to use. Very niche, especially in a world with such advanced tech. D tier.

PHOTOGRAPHIC MEMORY:

Copy abilities are usually some of the strongest and most useful ones. The issue is, this is an incomplete copy. Even if you add Anesidora to this and treat it like a one ability, it's still... meh.

The issue is most moves and weapons and complemented by the Semblance... which you can't copy. Like yeah, you can copy Yang's moves, but they won't be boosted by Burn. Best case scenario, you copy someone like Qrow (assuming you copy his weapon), who doesn't rely on his Semblance, but the copy only lasts for a few hits.

Best-case scenario, you are copying someone strong to dunk on a relatively weak opponent. You are not punching above your level with this one. C-tier.

MEMORY WIPING:

Honestly, pretty interesting Semblance. Ignoring its primary function, it basically turns you into a mental cleric.

Its full potential is held back by its user, but I don't think full lobotomy is possible without getting a boost from someone like Gillian or Jaune. Still, being able to confuse your opponent by removing some of their memories is quite a unique form of disruption.

B tier for its niche and theoretical potential.

QUARTET:

Offensively probably the strongest clone Semblance. Delayed triple repeat of your every attack. Imagine if someone stronger than Flynt had this. High B tier.

RAINBOW:

Speed Semblance with no additional effects. It's not even that strong. C tier.

SANDSKATING:

Get ready to learn Vacuan buddy, because it won't be long before you are a janitor in Shade Academy. D tier.

TELEKINESIS:

As simple as it gets. Universally useful and strong, A tier.

GOOD FORTUNE:

I may have underestimated the potential of this one when I talked about Qrow's Semblance. I forgot Clover pretty much only lost because his and Qrow's Semblance cancel each other out.

Good combat Semblance, good outside of a combat. Honestly, this might be one of the best Semblances if you just wanna chill out and enjoy your life. Probably S tier in that regard.

AURA VINES:

Versatile, safe range extender, boost offense, defence and speed. Good enough for B tier.

AURA ROOTS:

Way too specific. And even the thing it does is like whatever. It's not even a rule breaker, if you can't stick to the surface it doesn't work. Complete stinker, D tier.

FREEZE:

Paralysis Semblance without a crippling condition. The fact show has to constantly come up with scenarios to undermine it, shows how good it is. The only major flaw is that it is team-reliant. Still A tier.

SUPERSPEED:

Painfully boring, but good. B tier.

LIE DETECTOR:

I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but... Ren's Semblance is better. This is very limited in comparison. Suppose it's a good Semblance if you are a detective or politician. D tier.

INVISIBILITY FIELD:

Movable, can cover others, can mask other forms of presence. Yeah, this is good, B tier.

POCKET DIMENSIONS:

Dora the Explorer type shit. Assuming no limits, this is pretty good as utility Semblance, A tier.

PREFLEXES:

This Semblance had a gaslighting campaign to convince you that it does something. Two words: Aura sensing. It does nothing regular Aura sensing already doesn't. In fact, I'd argue that we saw more impressive reflexes from characters who don't have this Semblance.

Spidey sense, this is not. If Maria had a better Semblance, maybe she'd have two more eyes.

D tier, C if you are lazy.

METAL SKIN:

It's another one of those tad redundant Semblances. But I guess an extra layer of protection never hurt anyone (assuming this doesn't tax your Aura). It arguably has an okay offensive power, if you are fighting unarmed. Low B tier.

A: Raven, Fiona, Marrow, Glynda

B: Rhodes, May, Harriet, Vine, Sun, Flynt, Yatsuhashi, Neptune

C: Coco, Velvet, Neon

D: Robyn, Fox, Scarlett, Octavia, Elm, Maria
