Okay, Ive decided I actually really DO need to make an appreciation post for Ryusui. This man.. seriously, HOW did I get so invested in this man?? I shouldve known. The fucking MOMENT I thought "oh no he seems like hes going to be infuriating" I shouldve REALIZED there was going to be more going on here and.. I SORT of knew. I learned with Law. And with FMA Greed, actually. Ryusui was CONSTANTLY giving off vibes of "Hate me LOATHE me" while simultaneously COUNTERING them with endless love and an absolutely INSANE amount of development and depth the further you get into the series!! I swear it was on PURPOSE.

The second that man said "you may despise me, but I love you!! Because I desire every woman on this earth- and every man too! Im the greediest man alive, after all" (or something along those lines, dr stone readers know what im talking about) and with that glowing smile on his face to BOOT, I knew I was doomed. And I am, Im so doomed. A man who USES greed for love and unification?? And progress and advancements, instead of the stereotypical evil connotations?? My heart was already on the VERGE of being taken. But then.. they just kept going further!!! Born a rich kid but doesnt just snap his fingers and expect other people to do things for him, to lead the way in getting for him what he desires- no. If he DESIRES something, then even if he has to be the one to figure out HOW to obtain it, how to MAKE it, on his own then he absolutely WILL.

He straight up will go DAYS on no sleep or anything, working himself to the GROUND making those model ships and then will compensate BEYOND generously anyone who helps to bring his creation to life?? Hes the kind of man who will "desire" the safety of his workers and sailors and will go TOE TO TOE WITH GOD HIMSELF TO SEE TO THE HAPPINESS AND SAFETY OF ANYONE UNDER HIS CARE (lmao didnt mean to imply Senku was God or anything. Senku and that beautiful gambling debacle aside Ryusui WOULD have desired a way to march straight to the heavens and FIGHT God if he knew he was a direct threat to anyone he cared about and damn it he wouldve made it HAPPEN).

And just.. theres that saying of throwing money around, and usually with rich people that kind of stuff makes you RAGE but he does it in the BEST way!! The kind of man who will see a waitress holding back tears at a diner and be like "an expression like that on a beautiful face such as yours breaks my heart. It cannot continue, for I desire your happiness!" And gives her a $1k+ dollar tip and speaks with the establishment to arrange for her a long vacation and whatever else to combat what was making her sad. And did I even mention yet how he says ANY and EVERY woman is a beauty that must be treasured no MATTER their age and looks etc?? Hes the DIRECT counter to "If she BREATHES she a THOT" no no ALL women are QUEENS. Yet he is ALSO an absolute pansexual icon!! And he just keeps GOING. He develops more and MORE and just when you think youve finally understood him he goes DEEPER. He desires more than ANYTHING to go on that space trip.. yet he desires the success of the space trip MORE and anything that needs to be done to make it happen even if it MEANS recognizing that he isnt the best candidate to take one of the positions.. im just... ive gotten to the point where he could tell me he desires anything and whatever it is I would just GIVE it. Im so attached to him now. Ive never made a ramble appreciation post for ANY specific character that I remember and even tho i could even be considered late to the party on this.. I just NEEDED to okay?? I need. More love for this man. And honestly RIP to my wallet because of it
