Hello my friend!! I come asking with questions for Saam!!! I have questions for the Cassandra, the Iron Bull, and Dorian! Can't wait to see your response for them!

Cassandra: 1, 3, and 4.

The Iron Bull: 2, 4, and 5.

Dorian: 1, 2, and 3.

Oh, hi friend ;) Thank you so much for asking about my boy, my little saarebas, Saam! As for the questions...

Cassandra

(1) Is he Andrastian? Do his beliefs affect his relationship with Cassandra? -- Considering that the Qun is more a philosophy than it is a philosophy couched in figures and icons the way that Andrastianism is, I tend to think he's pretty close to being an atheist. Cassandra's beliefs are strange to him, but they're so tied into the way she treats others that he can't really separate them and finds that he doesn't really care enough to try. He appreciates her single-minded pursuit of truth and justice, as well as her honest acknowledgement of her faults. I think that Saam feels that she's a better person than him, and he tries to learn from her example, little by little.

(3) Did Saam push Cassandra to rebuild or abandon the Seekers? Why? -- Saam supports Cassandra over either decision, because she's the one to make it. I do think he knows that there's not really much of a decision to make, since one of the choices is so antithetical to her that it is barely an option. Also, he considers her the best person to rebuild/reform the Seekers due to her honest and frank approach with the knowledge she's gained. He believes that her efforts, whether they pay off in the long run or not, are motivated by honesty, transparency, and consideration of others, and he admires that.

(4) Does Saam agree with Cassandra's vision for the Chantry? Did he choose her to be the Divine? -- I think that he's not really in the business of agreeing with her over the Chantry in general. He's learned a lot from the mages he's talked to and it didn't seem like the Circles were working any better than the Qun except for the opportunity to actually learn magic, understand it. He doesn't think she'd be a good choice for Divine, not because of her belief in incremental change and returning the Chantry to its moral and ethical basics, but because she doesn't like being a figurehead. Being an icon isn't something she aspires to, and the Divine is pretty much that. Also, she'd have to pal around with and answer to nobility, and Saam is very much on her side when they're at Halamshiral. If she doesn't feel it as a true calling, a purpose, then he's not sure she needs to even consider it just because most of the other candidates were killed in the explosion.

The Iron Bull

(1) How did Saam react to the Chargers? Does he leave them to Iron Bull's discretion or use them as allies? -- Oh, he is very familiar with mercenary band dynamics. He gets along with them as well as he does with the other members of the Valo-Kas. He would use them as allies, but defers to Iron Bull's judgment because they're his company and not his. Strangely enough, he gets along better and faster with the Chargers than he does Iron Bull... at first.

(4) Did Saam choose the Chargers or the Qunari Alliance? -- Chargers. Chargers. CHARGERS. There is no other option. He escaped the Qun and having them be so near, so present, looming over him and listening through Iron Bull's filter is already stressful enough. Also, he likes the structure of the band better than the idea of whatever the Qunari believe he will deserve when he needs help. He knows them, he likes them, and he's not sacrificing them.

(5) Was The Iron Bull a valuable member of the Inquisition? Did Saam speak to him often? -- Saam was... very conflicted about the Iron Bull at first. They both have experience being a part of a mercenary band, which is already most of the positive life experiences Saam has had so far. BUT! Iron Bull is Ben-Hassrath, an active member of the Qunari, and does (on some level) think Saam is dangerously close to turning crazy or savage. It's only after the Chargers decision that Saam's last wall crumbles and he actively wants to get to know Iron Bull better. Ironically, I think that now it's Iron Bull who puts up walls, but eases up a bit after Saam (not as gracefully as other Valo-Kas he knows) talks him away from associating Tal-Vashoth with instability.

Dorian

(1) How does Saam feel about Tevinter? Does Dorian change his feelings about the Imperium at all? -- he doesn't really think much about the Imperium. Sure, they're a threat and sure, they've been fighting the Qunari for ages, so he technically doesn't like the Imperium. He also has spent less than a third of his life away from the Qun, so he isn't sure how he feels about any of the organized kingdoms and city-states and territories in Thedas. Getting along with Dorian just proves to him that good people can exist anywhere... even in the Slavert Capital of Thedas.

(2) How does Saam feel about Dorian being a necromancer? -- He's a tad disconcerted, mainly because he's still figuring out the difference between a spirit and a soul, which is an important distinction for him as a mage and as a Qunari. Honestly, he's more excited to see new magic he's never encountered before... even if reanimated corpses and howling wisps do give him the willies.

(3) Did Saam attempt to have Dorian talk to his father or not? Does he relate to Dorian in terms of family struggles or sexuality? -- Family-wise, he's confused how you can refuse to follow your parents' wishes and it's fine for some things and not for others. He's always going to err on the side of being your own person, so he's understandably horrified that Halward even considered using magic to force Dorian to change from what Saam believes is his essence, his purpose, his core. Being gay is what Dorian is and always will be. Otherwise, he leaves the decision up to Dorian because it's not his choice to make for him. After the talk, he does think of him more seriously as someone to admire and not just a reckless hedonist mage with some talent and a lot of attitude (affectionate).

i have two images in my head of colm trevelyan. the first is as depicted in a pro-Chantry poster or painting or even stained glass piece where his sunburst brand is radiating light, his face looks either compassionate or sad or thankful or grieving (there are SO many interpretations), and he's wreathed in flame like Andraste Herself because she Definitely Saved Him from the Fade and from Tranquility.

the second is him absolutely going f e r a l with Iron Bull. like, if anyone saw them Together™, it would just be Pure Smut. like, i haven't seen H3@ted R1v@lry but the VIBE i get is basically these two. they're going CRAZY on each other.

it is so funny and so crazy that my first Religious Inquisitor is also the Slutty One of the two.
