This show isn't even trying to pretend that they don't compare Grisha's genocide to Alina dealing with racists slurs. They don't even pretend that they aren't trying to gain the viewer's sympathy by making her a bigger victim.
We are exactly 36 seconds into this mess and already Alina is telling us how hard her life has been, what a bunch of stupid racists Ravkans are, how only the Fold can be worse than that kind of treatment.
Another three minutes pass by, and she has been called rice eater, Mal have been called half-race, her mother "looked" like an enemy, it's just goes on and on, she has to stand in the end of the line, there are propaganda posters showing Shu-Hans as the villains, etc.
We get it, Netflix, we get it.
I feel like someone is standing above me, hitting me with a stick and screaming: "You see?! She's the one with problems! She's the biggest fucking victim in this story, you see?! Now she can go off and fuck with Mal in the Meadow till the end of time, she deserves happy ending more than Grisha!".
Then the very first time we see a Grisha on the screen, it's some asshole bullying Mal, starting an unfair fight because he is a priviliged magic user! The audacity!
And if that wasn't enough the First Army had to move their tents so Grisha could have the space to train show off!
Later on one of those evil Grisha tries to seduce poor Mal, but fortunately he didn't fall for this devious slut!
I feel like I'm watching a show written by a five-year-old.
