Buck gets adopted by a cat and loves it, but immediately the cat tries to claim the spots on the bed/couch/etc where Tommy usually sits. And Buck is v. much 'don't move the cat' so they end up both sitting in Buck's spot usually with Buck in Tommy's lap. To avoid disturbing the cat, you know?

i thought you were going to surprise me with a modern magic au where tommy has been turned into a cat, but this is nice too 😅🐈

The hills are painted red with poppies. From a distance, it appeared as though blood was seeping through the wound of the Fold, but standing on a bluff overlooking the city which claims to be the birthplace of Santka Anastasia, the view is much more heartening. Flowers swaying in the wind like waves, green trees in the distance, the city painted in warm browns and yellows and whites. It would all be quite lovely—were it not for the bodies.

Completely at odds with his behavior thus far, he grins at her. Big and broad, the way he did when he came running off the Bus to hug her in Morocco. His hands drop away but one takes hers, heedless of the latex glove or what she might have touched that required them. “There’s something I have to tell you.” “All right,” she says slowly. He’s looking at her like she’s the one who only recently evaded death. Well, technically she did. But that was nearly two weeks ago. He’s the one who nearly died yesterday.

“It was my fault,” she says, repeating the lie they’ve told a dozen times by now. “I couldn’t bring myself to hurt Coulson and he used that against us.” He answers the heavy apology in her tone with his own forgiveness. “But she turned the tables on him in the end, got me out of there.” He runs his hand up and down her back, going lower until she meets his eyes and copies his smile. “I don’t have to ask how you did. A genius like you, doesn’t take much reasoning to figure who the winning side’s gonna be in all this.” “No,” Simmons says, the word drawn out slowly. “No, it does not.”

The whole camp might have disappeared when their eyes met. The whole world might have. For a long moment, she could only stare, held in place by familiar grey eyes and her own racing heart.

There was something like a click, like something sliding into place, and suddenly Sansa knew, Sansa believed—it was real. She had escaped King’s Landing, escaped Joffrey and Cersei. She had escaped her captivity and one of her brothers was right in front of her.

“Jon,” she said—sobbed, truly—and then she was in his arms.

Whether she fell from her horse, was helped off of it, or simply leapt from its back, she couldn’t say and didn’t care. All that mattered was Jon and how he clung to her just as tightly as she did to him, how he whispered her name into her hair and lifted her right off her feet, as happy to see her as if they’d always been close—as though she’d always loved him the way she ought.
