~ Team Seven Crush Headcanons ~

Naruto Uzumaki:

Always the first to volunteer to help you with anything. Chilly? Here, take his sweater. Hungry? Oh, he'll go to Ichiraku's with you!

Always really loud - louder than usual, even. He stutters a lot when he talks to you and fiddles with his hair and scratches his cheek. His heart pounds and his voice tends to crack whenever he makes you laugh.

He stares at you, intently. And he does NOT look away when you catch him, he just gives a thousand-gigawatt smile and laughs.

Much to the rest of the team's annoyance, he squeezes himself in-between you and whoever is sitting next to you. Grumbles and shouts of aggravation be damned, Naruto will do whatever it takes to be as close to you as possible.

Naruto's obliviousness makes flirting an impossibility. Whenever he tries, you look at him, and his poor brain can't handle the way your eyes strike him down. It usually ends with him walking into a trash can with a chuckle and an awkward "O-Okay, s-see ya later!"

Sasuke Uchiha:

This man is a complete enigma. One day, he's smirking at something you said and the next he is totally deadpan. He takes a few weeks before he says hi to you, and when he does, his expression is pure pain. It actually looks like being in your presence hurts him.

But he likes you. A lot.

Much to his chagrin. Sasuke doesn't get crushes. He gets crushed on - not the other way around.

He scoffs more than usual, but no longer at you. Now it's at his other idiot teammates, who are so obvious with their affections. The most annoying one is Naruto. Sasuke can't believe you haven't caught on yet with how obviously in love with you Naruto is, but deep down, he's grateful that it means he may still stand a chance.

Not known for being verbose, Sasuke takes a different approach from the rest of his team - he hovers. He starts to train closer to you. He sits next to you during team outings and tells Naruto off when he tries to squeeze in-between the two of you.

Most shocking, he notices the little things, and actually points them out. Styling your hair differently? He likes it. New jewelry? It looks good on you. Did you forget to bring your coffee that day? Sasuke is asking if you want to go get something with him and if you had enough sleep the night before.

Sasuke will tease you. If you say something cute, or make a grammatical mistake, he is the first to point it out. He finds everything you do endearing and adorable, and he wants to comment on it, but he of course has to hide why he wants to talk about it behind flirtatious teasing. And he's good at it, too.

Sai:

The complete opposite of Sasuke. He is not afraid to be blunt and direct with you, about everything.

At first, though, he isn't sure what he is feeling. So he does what he does best: researches it.

He quickly learns he has a crush on you from reading love stories and watching romcoms with Sakura and Ino. And he isn't afraid to ask them about it, either.

"Ah, I see. So you like them too, Sakura?" He asks. "Well, I guess they will just have to pick who makes them feel the same way we both feel about them."

Sai is good at detecting emotions, and he can tell there is a tension between himself and Sakura now, but he isn't sure why. Isn't it normal for crushes to form? Shouldn't him and Sakura both want what is best for you?

It doesn't take long until Sai starts striking up conversation with you. He starts out awkward at first, asking you personal questions that make your cheeks heat up. He points it out every time with a crisp laugh, like autumn itself lives within him, as he squeezes your hand.

"Don't be embarrassed," he says. "I think you're... cute."

Sakura Haruno:

She is shy at first around you, but it is apparent to everyone it's because she has a crush. She often asks for your opinion with a giggle, and will touch your shoulder or lean forward when you talk to her about something.

Over time, she becomes more confident. She hugs you - often. She reminds you to get home safely, and offers to walk you home when she can as well.

Really, she just wants to spend more time with you.

She starts bringing you small presents after she learns more about you. A flower she found on her walk over, a book she'd heard you mention wanting to read. Sakura listens intently to everything you say and makes a point of showing you that you're heard.

She becomes a bit clingy, but does her best to read your body language. If you seem averse to her affections, she will give you space - but when you return a touch, or rest your head onto her shoulder, she feels content.

Headcanons for Team 7 x fem reader whom they all have a crush on

Sounds cute ^^ let's go... headcanons below the cut!

Naruto

Finds excuses to be near you all the time. Need something at the store? What a coincidence, so does he. Naruto will carry the basket or drive the cart (big mistake) and he'll offer to carry your bags right to your door.

He finds it difficult to flirt without it sounding a little awkward. The poor boy practices his lines in front of a mirror and he is downright smooth in the safety of his apartment, but not when it is time for the real thing.

Naruto has literally no idea that anyone else is crushing on you, let alone the rest of his team. He is too wrapped up in how good you make him feel when he is in your presence.

Isn’t it strange how he manages to bring your name up in conversation all the time? Almost like he wants to talk about you (and he does). Naruto can’t see how obvious he is being, but everyone else can.

He is nervous to outright ask you on a date, but he has taken to Ichiraku for ramen on multiple occasions and you wonder if this means something…

Naruto will tell you, eventually. Will you accept his affection?

Sasuke

He tries to deny it. Sasuke doesn’t have a need for a crush, and yet you continue to plague his thoughts. It only makes him brood all the worse, and you honestly wonder if he hates you.

Sasuke is well aware that you are popular, that both Naruto and Sakura find you appealing and that only awakens his jealousy.

The Uchiha doesn’t handle his complex emotions in a healthy way, often teasing you or downright ignoring you instead of saying what is actually on his mind - 'hey, I like you'.

However, if he gets the sense that either of his idiotic friends is going to make an actual move, most likely Sakura as she is way more in touch with her feelings and daring enough, Sasuke shifts gears. He still scowls but not at you, at anyone that dares to approach you.

Words are hard for the young Uchiha, instead, he tries to demonstrate his affection by way of acts of service. You look hungry, so he makes you a packed lunch. You're shivering, Sasuke throws his hoodie at you and refuses to take it back when you protest.

How long will it take him to find the courage to accept his feelings? Will you wait for him?

Sakura

She is quite forward with her advances. Sakura doesn't want to miss out on something that could be everything she needs. Whilst she may not outright tell you her feelings, they will be quite clear if you know what you are looking for.

Sakura finds reasons to touch you, never anything too intimate and she is cautious of intruding into your personal space, but she likes the physical connection. A hand on your shoulder. Quick hugs. Knees that bump together.

She is more than aware that her teammates like you too, but she is the better option and she'll make you see that. Sakura takes an interest in your hobbies, asks questions that prove she listens to what you tell her and genuinely shows she cares about your opinions.

She can be a little aggressive when it comes to fending off the clumsy advances of her friends - Naruto doesn't get why she is acting so hostile and Sasuke merely snarls in response. It can be intimidating to be around them all at once, and Sakura needs to be reminded that you can speak for yourself.

Sakura is sweet, caring and wants the best for you. She will give you the space you need but is also there in a heartbeat if you need someone to talk to or a shoulder to cry on.

Her confession will be sudden and heartfelt. How do you respond?

Sai

When you meet Sai for the first time, he is struck with a strange sense of understanding. He had heard a lot about you from Naruto and Sakura, and now it all made sense. He likes you instantly.

He is blunt, always has been. Whilst emotions are not something he could say he has any mastery over, he knows that the butterflies that swarm his tummy when he sees you mean something important.

Sai learns as much about you as he can, but not from you directly. He'll ask everyone and anyone until he has a perfect picture painted in his mind. He researches your interests so that he can speak about the subjects with a certain degree of knowledge, and he wants to impress you above all else.

Sometimes he doesn't realise that his way of speaking and the questions he asks can come across as inappropriate, and he doesn't mean to seem rude - truly - but he does want to know if you've had a partner previously. You can always speak your mind with Sai, in fact, he prefers that.

It won't take him long to ask you out, he'll be direct about it. Do you accept?

Naruto, Shikamaru, Sai, Neji

Naruto Uzumaki

Naruto is generous in everything

including cuddling

he would be willing to do all kinds of activities when having you close to his body

when he is cuddling with you before bed, he would keep you accompanied by telling you anything that crosses his mind

if he is cuddling you in the early morning, it would be quiet because Naruto is a deep sleeper

it would likely be you ogling at his cute, contented face while resting your chin on his chest

if you two are lounging on the couch for a lazy afternoon, he prefers to have you on his lap, snuggling into his arms

he would cradle you to bed if you fall asleep afterward

when he is tired after training with Jiraiya, you would run your fingers down his back to give him a soft massage while he lies on his stomach

when you are drained, Naruto would let you have full access to his chest as he peppers kisses on your head

cuddling with him is your ultimate cure to any sickness.

Shikamaru Nara

Shikamaru is a passive man

so you would get even more cuddling time

instead of lying in bed or slugging on the couch, you two would be cloud watching on the grass

or maybe stargazing if it’s night time

you would spread one of your arms across his chest

and he would wrap his arm around your back, occasionally reaching up to smooth your hair

Shikamaru won’t talk much since he likes to spend as much time as possible just to appreciate the beauty of nature

and of the person beside him

if you accidentally fall asleep in the process, he would give a light chuckle and hug you tighter

being an inert man he is, Shikamaru would lay there for you to use his chest for as long as you want

if it’s already late and you two need to go back, he would shower you with little pecks on your cheeks until your eyes flutter open

if it’s the early morning and you wakes up before he does, you would spot a slight frown on his lips

so you engulf him in a hug by throwing your arms around his neck

and he instantaneously relaxes his features

cuddling is Shikamaru’s way of rejuvenating.

Sai

Sai would be very awkward at the mention of cuddling

and he would pull you into his arms, more like squeezing you against his chest

until you squirm around for air, he would then release his grip

he would eventually learn how to cuddle properly

Sai would totally pull on new cuddling positions from the books he read

and he would take note of the ones that you like best for the future days to come

if you are up before he is, feel free to snuggle closely because the man would unconsciously lean into your warmth when he sleeps

but if he is awake before you are, Sai would first take a deep breath to remind him that this is real

and he would give your forehead a kiss then pull you into his chest

he prefers both spooning you and being spooned by you

when he is the big spoon, he plays with your hands and rests his chin on your head

when you are the big spoon, Sai would melt if you rub soft circles on his shoulder

overall, he only wants to spend time with you after a long day.

Neji Hyuuga

The man would choke on his water when you say you want to cuddle him

Neji would be imagining all the possible outcomes before he hesitantly nods

but when he’s cuddling close to you, all his earlier plan astray

he would lay on his side and drape his arm around you out of instinct

and when he finally realizes what’s happening, he would try to pull his hand back

but you stop him and interlace your fingers

and the man would literally dissolve 

after a few times, it becomes Neji’s habit to snuggle into the crook of your neck

because that’s the warmest place

and he can smell your comforting scent

he would prefer to be the big spoon because he sees you as his cute, little baby that he needs to protect

but he would also enjoy the moments when you are the big spoon because he feels cared for

the best place for cuddling with Neji would be the couch since it’s convenient to wrap your arms around each other for some movies or just short breaks during the day.

after the shitty baby shower they throw sai and sasuke, kakashi tells them 'you know, as the two remaining uchiha clan members, sai can contest you on the position of uchiha clan head'

dumb bets in spars that mean that this title is passed between them at least once a week

this has escalated to include the rest of team 7, since they're all on each others family registers at this point

the longest reigning period of uchiha clan head belongs to pakkun, who lasted a whole month, only because he would get extra doggy treats as clan head and he'd accuse the rest of team 7 of animal abuse if they tried to challenge him. he lost to sakura who was returning from a medic conference in suna and abused everyone equally

KAKASHI

although you were the one who proposed the idea, you’re internally freaking out while he’s cool as a cucumber

when you get near the middle of the pocky, he starts biting off tinier and tinier pieces

like yall are basically kissing already

but he continues to tease you

even though your lips are nearly touching, SOMEHOW this man still continues to bite off smaller pieces

its basically a game of chicken at this point

but eventually you have to take the plunge because this man is such a tease

the eventual kiss is delicious (literally)

a small chuckle sounds from the back of his throat at your pent-up kisses

he rewards you very handsomely for your troubles though, his hands cup your cheek as his lips move against yours

“hmm, you seem disappointed that you didn’t get to eat enough... shall we try it again?”

NEJI

takes the biscuit end of the stick

a little confused at first?? this is not an efficient way to eat this snack.

stares at you kind of intensely as you both move towards the middle of the pocky

when you get near the center, his mind starts racing:

his brain goes into alarm mode, and he forgets to kiss back for a second or two

but then he’s enveloped in the feeling of your lips and the taste of the pocky that his mind just blanks, and all he can focus on is you

when you finally pull back, his eyes flutter open and his cheeks are tainted with pink

SAI

wonders why you are also biting the end of the pocky?

decides that it’s some unique tradition that you were raised with

this man is so clueless,, he literally chomps his end of the stick (and into yours as well) in three bites, then pulls back

so you’re just standing there with the biscuit end of the stick protruding from your mouth looking like a fool

maybe you should have explained the concept to him a little more..

he gives you his signature close-eyed smile, grateful for letting him partake in such an odd tradition
