I know Clodsire is supposed to be based on the Iberian Ribbed Newt, but I named mine Forster after the scientific name for Australian Lungfish because it gives me Australian Lungfish vibes. And I just think Forster’s a cute name.

I immediately gasped on seeing the Australian Lungfish. You're so right, and Forster is such a good name.

Does Caldwell ever say what color Sol is? I see everyone drawing him as blue or green but for some reason I imagined him as yellow. (I guess just because it was a nice contrast to the other characters’ cool colors?)

i don’t believe he does but i went with green because he said that his thesis for sol was basically that “to think that even a frog in a well like me gets to eat fried chicken” anime screenshot and the frog in that pic is green

Hi! I’ve been sort of silently following for a long time and I love Parker, but I still don’t quite know his story. Sorry if you’ve explained already and I’ve just never seen it but... Who exactly is he? What does he do and why is he the way that he is? 😅

Parker is a creature from my fictional works called an Agent. Agents are powerful magical beings who’s physical appearance is an expression of their subconscious mind. They have no ability to choose how they look, it sort of just happens based on their own personal symbolism, beliefs about themselves, history, etc.,

Agents are walking magical hotspots - they don’t seek energy, magic just flows into and out of them with each breathe, so they exist somewhat outside the rat race of survival. Their lives are dominated by thought, feeling, and the overwhelming experience of their overpowered senses. Most of them seem pretty serene and detached as a result.

Parker is mentally ill. He has capital D Depression and has been in various states of despair and distress for most of his life. He spent a long time effectively exiled to the ocean, unable to stay around others of his kind as they could feel his pain directly and weren’t perfect about it.

Humans took pity on him when he washed up on the shore, which is the only reason he didn’t rot away to nothing. This had a pretty big effect on his feelings about the world and himself which is expressed in his appearance.

The rest I gotta finish writing the script for, but that’s his back story.

When I worked at a theatre with live animals we had sneakers for the donkeys so they wouldn’t slip on the stage

@saritawolff that’s the cutest thing I’ve ever heard of, thank you so much for telling me. I hope they didn’t fuss too much over getting their little sneakers put on.
