These tasty buckwheat waffles are a great way to start a hearty sandwich. When you mix ham and cheese, you get a filling meal that you can eat at any time of the day.
Ingredients: 1 cup buckwheat flour. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour. 2 teaspoons baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1 tablespoon sugar. 2 large eggs. 1 cup milk. 1/4 cup melted butter. 8 slices ham. 8 slices cheese such as cheddar or Swiss. Dijon mustard optional. Maple syrup optional.
Instructions: All-purpose flour, buckwheat flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar should all be mixed together in a bowl with a whisk. Get another bowl and beat the eggs. Then add the milk and melted butter and mix them in. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ones and mix them together until they are just mixed. Warm up the waffle iron and cook the batter according to the directions on the box until it is golden and crispy. Take waffles out of the iron and give them a minute or two to cool down. In between two waffle squares, put a slice of ham and cheese to make a sandwich. You can spread Dijon mustard on one side of the waffle and maple syrup on the other side before putting it all together if you want to. Enjoy while still warm!
