Something particularly beautiful about these two. Growing on the stones of the entrance gate to the park.

!! A gorgeous array of saxicolous lichen!! (rock-dwelling) Featuring:

Rock velvet lichen 》Thermutis velutina (2nd, 5th, & 6th images)

Yellow cobblestone lichen 》 Acarospora socialis (9th and 10th images)

Firedot lichen 》 Squamulea subsoluta (4th, 7th, & 8th images)

Crater lichen 》 Diploschistes scruposus (5th & 7th images)

and various sheild lichens I didn't have enough details to accurately identify.

I was leaving my local Kroger when I saw these decorative rocks COVERED in a lichen rainbow and just had to turn around and get a closer look!!
