🤍: Which character is not as morally bad as everyone else seems to think?
Okay this is a tough one because I could say Dark Ace with all the bias I am known for, but bro is canonically almost as bad as Ravess and Snipe when it comes to abusing NPC Talons. At least one Talon has been yeeted off their ride by him, I think it was in Gale Force Winds.
I had to talk this one over with the squad to realise Captain Scabulous is right there. As far as I rememer he never mistreats his crewmates, and based on Ultra Dudes he actually does a lot to stick up for those in his inner circle, even riding to some nowhere desert Terra because one of his buddies got shot at by a random blond kid.
Then there's also the fact that his and his crew's whole motivation in Calling All Domos was that they wanted to remodel their kitchen and get better eating utensils. Call him a marauding, merciless raider all you want but at least he canonically gives a shit about his people lol
Me in 2014, catching up on ninjago after watching storm hawks, max steel, and slugterra for the first time: i bet having sam vincent here would fix this (my hatred of mark Oliver as a good guy)
Me in 2025, catching up on ninjago after not watching it for like 9 years: ... yeah that's not what I had in mind...
Top 5 fav storm hawks characters? (BUT you can't use Snipe XD)
Very Well. Challenge Accepted.
Carver
What solidified Carver as a favorite for me was the episode ‘Second Chances’. While I did assume the twist, I like how they presented him as cunning and charismatic. He pretty much had everyone almost believe that Aerrow was under mind control. The other thing is that his reason for it was him being petty that he got beaten. I figured he has a hero complex and I would’ve loved it if he was in the show more as a morally grey/anti-villain who just wants to beat Aerrow.
Cyclonis
One of the popular characters that I like for the same reasons as well: good design, interesting personality, and story potential. She’s also intriguing as you’re trying to find a balance between “She’s a villain and needs to be stop” or “She needs a blacket and cocoa”. If the show had been more developed and gave more thought to the world-building, I think it could have shown more of her character, especially on how she was thinking she was reclaiming a false legacy.
Scabulous
Not gonna lie, I am a sucker for sky pirates. So seeing Scabulous and the Murk Raiders was a definite highlight for me. I’ve always imagined them to be like zombies or mutants. I wished they had more appearances than they did. They are certainly fun to watch.
Aerrow
Aerrow’s the typical teen hero, but I can I like him. He has the vibe down and dual-wielding is awesome. If there’s one complaint about him, I wish he was shown more fallible. He could do well with learning lessons like, “Not everyone on your side is going to hold the same standards as you do” or “Those who could be considered good aren’t really.” *Has long list of examples*

Scabulous
You were soaked through, your clothes clinging to your skin like they’d fused to you. You didn't even think twice about pulling off your drenched shirt as soon as you'd gotten inside. Bucky was there, but he was comfortable and familiar in a way that didn't make you feel awkward about the fact you were now just standing in front of him in your soaked through bra and shorts.
Bucky, however, did look awkward. His hair lay flat against his skull and his hoodie was dripping. ‘Drowned rat’ was a term that came to mind. But rather than start stripping off he just stood there, folding in on himself.
“I'll get us some towels,” you said quickly, assuming he hadn’t gotten to the ‘being comfortable seeing his friend semi-naked’ stage yet.
You ran down to your hall closet and pulled out the biggest and fluffiest towels you had and draped one around your shoulders to cover yourself up a little. You'd assumed by the time you got back to Bucky he'd have taken his hoodie off at least. Instead, he was just as clothed and just as wet as he looked before.
“Why don't you take off your shirt? So you're not dripping everywhere,” you suggested.
Bucky flinched and seemed to make himself smaller. “My arm,” he said touching the spot on his shoulder where metal met flesh. “It's not pretty. I don't … It's disturbing.”
You frowned and moved closer to him holding out the towel. “I think I can handle it, but I won't look if you don't want.”
“It's just the scars. They're deep and … They never seem to fade. I hate them,” Bucky scowled, taking the towel from you.
“We all have scars, Buck,” you said gently, moving your towel a little and twisting to show the tattoo on your side. “See here -” you took his hand and touched his fingers on the raised scarring under the branch in the tattoo. “I was run through. It hit my kidney. I thought I was going to die. They thought I was going to die. But I didn't. Still here. Still fighting. And you, Bucky - you've been through more than anyone. And here you are, soaked and for sure going to to get pneumonia if you don't get out of those wet clothes. But you're still here and still fighting. The scars you wear are just the art in the book that is your life and it is still being written.”
Bucky's fingertips traced over the raised scarring as he studied it carefully. He raised his eyes and looked at you. “I can't get sick.”
“Lucky for some. I’m down a kidney and I get sick all the time,” you joked. “And for that reason, I'm going to have the first shower.”
He chuckled as you pulled away. “You don't have to hide from me,” you said and turned and began to make your way back down the hall. “And if you want to join me in the shower… That would be A-OK with me.”
Chapter 4 is back and finally finished! It’s so long. Many changes were made to bring you guys more context about Aeja’s family and how she’s dealing with Yerim’s condition.
Another Discord request, this one by @mordecaizerkaa
Yes he’s a violent, marauding pirate captain of the Murk Raiders but if Calling All Domos was any indication, he or at least one of his crew knows how to cook and can appreciate the work of chefs. He’s the ringleader of every loud and rowdy group of bar-hoppers who’ve stopped by the restaurant for a snack break and more drinks to spend their stolen wealth on. Loud and overwhelming he’s not exactly the most savoury of customers, but at least he doesn’t expect you to count change for solid gold coins of unknown origin.
“Keep the change,” he slurs as he and his crew stumble out and onto the next bar.
